| There were no special events leading up to failure, the rear view mirror in my acura 99 tl started leaking fluid and no longer works as it should. the liquid could be hazardous and the mirrors no longer up to the same standard as when the vehicle was released. acura is unwilling to replace the mirror free of charge, in fact they are charging exorbitantly for it. magna donnelly the manufacturer of the mirror was replacing these to affected consumers but was instructed by acura/honda to stop - incredible they can do such a thing given their product stopped working and just want to charge more money to customers. *tr | |||

| 1999 acura tl 50,000 miles. rearview mirror exploded liquid. noticed 5 days ago that the mirror was dark. 4 days ago noticed a clear bubble in the dark liquid. i thought it was just condensation or moisture and it would go away. yesterday it exploded leaving black spattering on leather seats and center console, as well as on personal items. i got some in my mouth accidentally, and it left numbness and bad taste. researched online and apparently contains toxic chemicals? have coincidentally had headache/stomach pain all week but am reluctant to say yes, definitely from this. scared of inhaling vapor. left pitted damage marks on plastic, destroyed sunglasses, will not come off leather. i am contacting acura dealer today, however online chat rooms seem to say acura and magna donnelly (mirror mfgr) not replacing? i want the msds on the mirror fluid!!! *tr | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1999 acura tl. while attempting to park the vehicle, the contact noticed that the top color of the rearview mirror changed to bright silver, and the lower portion changed to a darker silver. he also noticed that the mirror was leaking chemicals from the seams. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. the current and failure mileages were 95,000. | |||
