2004 aprilia rsvr factory, see complaint #10334078 and all related. the fuel tanks are made by the same company as ducati of the same materials, my tank was taken to the dealership on concerns of drastically reduced mileage - from 45-50mpg to measured 15mpg and rippled/spread tank surface, aprilia denied my claim filed a couple of weeks ago at motocorsa of portland. motocorsa advised me to file this complaint. concerned spreading has caused somehow a leak or created pressure from spreading on a fuel line to affect gas mileage? very concerned about riding this motorcycle and the potential loss in resale, and the added expenses incurred by having diagnostic work done to no avail, as well as extra unanticipated cost of using a car.
2004 aprilia rsvr 1000 motorcycle - chronic rear brake problems. brake line gets air trapped inside and will not work. dealership has attempted to fix the issue many times. repairs have lasted for several weeks and then reappear. the motorcycle is unsafe to ride with no rear brake. *nm
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 aprilia rsv 1000. the contact discovered that at low speeds, the rear suspension fails and the rear tire locks and slides under the seat. this causes the driver to lose control of the vehicle. he felt that certain aluminum parts should be steel and was due to a manufacturer defect. there had been no failure to date. the powertrain was unknown. the current mileage was 30,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 aprilia rsv 1000. a recall notice was received for nhtsa campaign # 05v538000 (suspension:rear). a copy of the recall was faxed to the dealer, however; they had not contacted him back. the motorcycle was his only transportation therefore he was unable to leave the motorcycle with the dealer for them to order the part. there was no failure. the current mileage was 15,000.
