| Car only has 63,000 miles. the aluminum bolts for the valve cover and the head bolts sheared off while driving. stopped at a red light and car starts to shake, check engine sign lights, oil sign lights, once i gave it gas. oil is leaking from car. car is towed and mechanic shows me damage. broken aluminum bolts fell inside of engine. bolt is wedged between timing chain and gear. the engine is destroyed. known defect for 2006 models, but bmw north america will not cover damage. have called bmw north america three times now. bmw switched bolt type in following years. others reporting same problem. safety hazard. what if i was on a busy highway when my car stopped? car will never be the same. bmw needs to admit to their mistake and cover the damages. a recall should be put in place for the bolts. just ridiculous that a company known for quality will do this to their customers. i hope the dot takes it upon themselves to hold bmw accountable. others with the same problem, please email me at bosstab4@aol.com . looking for a potential resolution. | |||

| Doors lock, but only driver door unlocks. used key only unlocked drivers door, used button on dash only unlocked drivers door, fob only unlocked drivers door. other three doors not unlocking. | |||

| I was in my car (bmw 325i - 2006) with two kids, a toddler and a newborn. i locked the door and window because my toddler wanted to open the door. later i tried to roll down the rear window and heard a crack. the window was broken. this is a big safety issue especially you have kids in the car. i had to drive home with the window broken and down with my kids in there. the weather was cold and of course was very dangerous because my toddler knows how to open the seat belt and also possessed dangerous to other vehicles as she can throw toys out of the window. i will take my vehicle to bmw dealer tomorrow to see what they can do to fix the situation. i've never had expected that i can roll down the window while it is locked. how do i suppose to remember that the window has been locked or what if my spouse locked it while she drove. i've never had this issue with other vehicles. | |||
