Passenger door locks will not respond to fob or central lock/unlock controller. the door will unlock and open from the inside, but will not open with key, fob, or central locking console button. this happened when i first purchased the vehicle in 2010, and again at the end of 2011. this is and continues to be a safety hazard. if the door(s) lock and are unable to be unlocked, it would cause loss of life.

Just wondering why this is not included in the nhtsa campaign id number: 08v384000 ?? passenger restraint system failure light is on?? looks like this would fall under this: summary: bmw is recalling 200,000 my 2006 3 series sport seat, my 2004-2006 5 series standard and sport seat, and my 2004-2006 x3 passenger vehicles. depending on the manner and frequency of the front passenger's entry and exit, small cracks have developed in the mat. if this occurs, the front passenger air bags, with the exception of the head protection system, will be deactivated and the air bag warning lamp as well as the passenger air bag on-off lamp will be illuminated.

When there is a power failure in the 2006 bmw 330i, in this case caused by a blown fuse, the doors will not open either by attempting to electronically unlock them or by using the door handles. the only way i was able to exit the car was to roll down the driver's side window and use a manual key on the outside of the car to unlock the door. in the event of a total power failure and the power windows failed as well, it would be impossible to exit the vehicle other than by breaking the windows. this is a very dangerous design flaw. there should always be a way to exit the vehicle without having to rely on the vehicle's electrical system.
