| Tl- the contact owns a 1997 bmw 540. the contact stated the transmission stopped shifting. the contact had the vehicle inspected by the dealer and was told the ring gear on the transmission broke and caused the transmission to go into safe mode. this causes the transmission not to shift. the contact spoke to the manufacturer about a recall they found in regards to a manufacturer recall for the ring gear and was told there vehicle is outside of the production date. the vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage and current mileages were 141,000.rl | |||
