This is a 2010 bmw 550i gt with the sport package. it has the star spoke wheels and run flat tires. the tires and wheels are original from the factory. the low tire indicator came on so we took the tire in to have it repaired. the right rear tire had an industrial staple in the middle the tread. bmw would not repair the tire because they will not patch a run flat tire. we were therefore forced to purchase a new tire. the tire had 17k miles on it and still had a lot of tread. bmw ordered a new tire and put it on. when we came to pick up the car the tire was flat. bmw took it back and found that the wheel was cracked. we did nothing to crack this wheel. we had it looked at by a tire shop and they said there was nothing done to this wheel. the wheel doesn't have a scratch on it. it just cracked under normal use. i have reported this to bmw and they just say its not covered. i know its not covered, but they are not even interested enough to send an engineer out to look at it. this is a very dangerous condition on a car that has a speed limiter set at 150 mph, yet bmw does not seem interested in it. i still have the wheel and tire.
