	Braun vista 2 and century 2 (affected manufacturing dates to be determined) wheelchair lifts may allow unintended wheelchair roll away to occur when the outer barrier system (outboard rollstop) fails to latch.this failure mode is alleged to have allowed an occupied, powered wheelchair, weighing over 850 lb, to roll off an elevated lift resulting in serious injuries to the chair occupant.braun has issued two service bulletins (36218 - april 2010 and 36359 - june 2010) and one modified latch kit to address rollstop latching issues with the subject lifts. a preliminary evaluation has been opened to assess the scope and severity of the alleged defect.

	Tl- i have only 2005 pontiac montana entervan from braun, and it is about to get its fifth fuel tank. two other tanks were delivered but not installed because they were defective. i once met a guy with a vehicle like mine and he also had a fuel tank leak. i believe that this should be investigated. while the population of vehicles is small, the handicapped people in them are most vulnerable. this is especially true if the wheelchair ramp will not go down or there's a fire in the area of the ramp. the contact wanted to file the complaint that he sent via email. the current miles were 65,000. the vin was not available. bl

	Braun vangator wheelchair lift malfunctioned. when activated the lift started in the stow position and continued up throwing me into the wheelwell of the van. the hand control continued the lift even while no one was operating the toggle switch. the lift threw me to the well with my chair on top of me. i sustained sever neck and back injuries. i have yet to recover. this is a new lift and i suggest a possible recall or service advisory be sent to every owner to check if other lift electronics have malfunctioned.

	My 2000 ford windstar's speedometer,odometer and cruise control does not work. the #10 fuse continuously blows and the abs light is on. i have replaced several fuses, purchased a new brake pressure deactivation switch, and the connector and had them installed. *tr

	The consistent problem is that when using what appears to be a flat level parking place, most often marked as an ada appropriate parking place for persons with disabilities, many times the braun lift (described below) will not complete its expected function. as a quadriplegic, i cannot get out of my wheelchair to insert a spacer under the foot that will allow me to get onto or off of the lift. i devised a tool that has various thicknesses and is kept available to put under the foot, but it can only be used by another person outside of the van. the lift cannot be used on any kind of an uneven surface including what appears to be flat, ordinary, asphalt-covered parking lots. from the end of september, 2007, forward, a photograph and/or videotape record will be made each time the van and lift is used and the lift fails as described above. at the direction of the manufacturer, on 10-8-07 the vehicle was taken for a second time to a local dealer for repair. the repairs and adjustments were made once again. when it was completed and the van was outside on a typical smooth, level, asphalt surface my employee tried to operate the lift. when the platform touched the ground, the barrier plate failed to open. the lift described above remains defective and is dangerous for a sole wheelchair-user-driver to use. *jb
