Service air bag light came on. took vehicle to dealer. vehicle air bag module and connector replaced under warranty.service air bag light has come on and off several times over past few months. currently light is back on and continues to stay on. this recurring situation indicates a problem with the vehicle's air bag system that should qualify for a recall. the integrity of the air bag system is obviously in question and personal safety is being compromised.

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. the contact stated that the check air bag light illuminated while driving 15 mph. she took the vehicle to the mechanic and was informed that it was a common issue. she was advised to have the dealer make the repairs. the dealer stated that there was an issue with one of the computers in the vehicle that could prevent the air bags from deploying in the event of a crash. during this time, the contact heard a very loud clunking noise coming from the steering component. the vehicle was taken to a dealer and they stated that they could not repair the vehicle since it was out of warranty. the contact believes that this is a manufacturer defect, but the manufacturer is refusing responsibility. the failure mileage was 45,000 and current mileage was 72,000.
