| Tl* the contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. the contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the steering became difficult to maneuver. the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete barrier. the contact sustained injuries to the head. the contact was advised by another driver that the front driver's side wheel buckled under the vehicle and the passenger's side wheel had completely detached from the vehicle. the contact sought medical attention after the crash. the police reported to the scene and a report was filed. the vehicle was towed to an auto body repair shop. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and sent an inspector to access the vehicle. the contact stated that the intermediate steering shaft was replaced one week prior to the crash. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 79,000. | |||

| Slow speed steering feels like something is catching, makes noise and does not feel right. contacted dealer and they said there is a problem with the steering shaft but there is no recall on it so it would cost $300 plus to have it fixed, this is a gm defect from the factory that is common to the 2006 lucerne and needs to have a recall before someone gets in a bad accident. | |||

| My vehicle pulls to the right. it has done this since i purchased the car last summer. before i bought it the dealership put new tires and aligned the vehicle. it still slightly pulled to the right and has worsened since. i have called the dealer 3 times since to check for recalls or get their opinion about if the alignment should be checked again. i am afraid it is causing uneven wear on my new tires and it is quite irritating. | |||

| My 2006 lucerne with v-6 engine has 80,000 miles on it. recently it has developed a pronounced bump} in the steering when i drive slowly in my driveway or in a parking lot. i have inspected the tie rods and other linkage under the car but see or feel nothing obviously amiss. my local tire store said this is characteristic of several gm cars he services. he said the problem is a worn plastic bushing in the steering column mechanism. also, the instrument panel gauges are virtually impossible to read in the daytime! | |||

| A puddle appeared in the driveway where the 2006 buick lucerne is parked. the puddle looked like power steering fluid and after getting under the car, a power steering leak was detected. i searched on the nhtsa website and found that there was a recall on the 2006 buick lucerne with a v8 engine which said that the power steering hose connectors were improperly installed which would cause a leak. i called buick about this and they said that my car was not part of this recall even though it meets the year, make, and model requirements and has the exact same problem the recall is for. *tr | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. the contact stated that the check air bag light illuminated while driving 15 mph. she took the vehicle to the mechanic and was informed that it was a common issue. she was advised to have the dealer make the repairs. the dealer stated that there was an issue with one of the computers in the vehicle that could prevent the air bags from deploying in the event of a crash. during this time, the contact heard a very loud clunking noise coming from the steering component. the vehicle was taken to a dealer and they stated that they could not repair the vehicle since it was out of warranty. the contact believes that this is a manufacturer defect, but the manufacturer is refusing responsibility. the failure mileage was 45,000 and current mileage was 72,000. | |||

| Purchased 2006 buick lucerne, june 24,2006 from scott buick, of pinellas park, fl. we drove it down the road 4 miles and turned back to return it to dealer . the steering was pulling to the right real bad. dealers service dept checked the mechanics of the steering and could find any reason for the pulling to the right. released it to us on june 26,and after a couple miles down the road we promptly returned again to the dealer. they looked for a gm bulletin regarding this problem this time, they serviced it according to the bulletin spec's, on the 28th. that did not correct the problem totally this makes 3 times it was in service for this problem. the steering problem still exist as of today july 22, 2006 this should be considered a safety problem with the auto. *nm | |||

| Tl* - the contact called regardingthe 2006 buick lucerne. the contact stated that the vehicle shifted to the right. before he purchased the vehicle, he took the vehicle for a test drive and noticed the vehicle pulled to the right. the dealer advised him that they would align the vehicle before he took delivery. when he picked up the vehicle he noticed the vehicle still pulling to the right. the failure mileage was 30 mph. when the cruise control was on the vehicle it pulled to the right. there were no warning indicators. when the vehicle was driven around a curve the steering wheel came back to the center, but it still drifted 3 degrees to the right. the contact stated that he must keep pressure on the steering wheel in order to keep the vehicle straight. the contact stated the dealer has done 3 front wheel alignments and balanced the tires. this has not corrected the steering problem. the current mileage was 2400.*ak | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2006 buick lucerne. the tie rods in the vehicle were replaced twice within a three year period. during the first failure, the vehicle began vibrating and shaking whenever the brake pedal was depressed. she took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the tie rods on both sides of the vehicle. the failure recurred after 18 months. she took the vehicle back to the dealer and they tightened and greased the tie rods. this repaired the failure for six months until it occurred again while driving 10 mph. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they replaced the tie rods again. the contact believes that the tie rods were a manufacturer defect and they should be responsible. the failure mileage was 3,200 and current mileage was 32,000. updated 2/2/09 *cn updated 02/04/09. *jb | |||
