Tl*the contact owns a 2001 buick regal. the contact stated that water leaks onto the floorboard and the front passenger seat during inclement weather. when the water enters the vehicle, it saturates the entire floor. the vehicle has not been taken to the dealer to determine the cause of failure. the failure mileage was 60,000 and current mileage was 64,400. | |||

During routine maintenance discovered that the front rhs steering spindle to tie-rod attachment lug had cracked through one side of the lug. spindle is fabricated from cast aluminum. fatigue crack initiation from inclusion or potential casting defect was apparent before failure. part number and photographs of the cracked surface are available. *tr |
