I am sending you information on my 2005 buick terraza, i am also the original owner. this information is regarding my rear brake problem that i feel should be included on your defect list. this problem should be already covered under the nhtsa recall id 05v287000. however, general motors buick division feels differently and claims my vehicle id number was not a part of their recall. consequently they have denied my requested reimbursement claim in the amount of $452.60 to correct my brake problem on the vehicle. since this dispute has not been settled to my satisfaction; i am requesting that you put this information on file in the nhtsa database as unintended braking when accelerating and the cause is lever slippage at each rear brake caliper.i have maintained a file folder on this buick, terraza braking defect and would be happy to share all my information with nhtsa. buick, gm owes me $452.60. this is their safety issue that i had to have corrected. *tr

There are several defects that i am experiencing with this van. these issues escalated this weekend, the traction control and system stability indicators came on again and caused the brakes to lock i changed the brakes because i thought that was the cause it was not. also the rear sliding doors will open while driving on their own. this van has been in the shop at lou fusz saint louis, mo several times and it is still not operating. this is a safety issue i am lucky that i was not on the highway when the brakes locked up, unfortunately that is not the case with the doors. i cancelled a trip to the zoo with my kids because the doors opened on their own while on the interstate, they are now afraid to ride in the back seats. *tr

At approx. 15,000 miles the brakes squeal or chirp almost every time the brakes are applied. the consequences of this has left embarrassment as well as worry as to weather the brakes are going to give out. also have noticed a slight fade and increased braking distance or having to push harder to stop the vehicle. the rotors have been turned twice, stop squeal was applied to the pads as well as sanding the edges of the pads and nothing has fixed the problem. *nm

Since october 2006 i have taken the '05 buick terraza to mossy pontiac buick gmc of new orleans for the following issues: dvd static noise, unusually loud, exhaust noise on take-off, brakes, abs lights come on, onstar, and ignition/starter continues to turnover after releasing the starter key. after 10-15 visits to the dealership for the same issues they say that they replaced the muffler and the catalytic converter, and that any noise i hear is inherent to the vehicle. i was also informed that the dvd noise i heard was inherent to the vehicle up until my last visit on april 10, 2007 at which time i was informed of a bulletin that described the problem i had been having since october 2006. either way, that issue was still not fixed after leaving my vehicle at the dealership for approximately 10 hours. also, according to the dealership the abs light issue and the ignition/starter issue could not be duplicated. therefore , they are likely inherent to the vehicle. *ak i placed a complaint with buick customer care on april 10 after not having any resolution to my problems, and they informed me that there is nothing they can do other than offer me a $1000 rebate for buyer loyalty towards a new gm vehicle. my car current has 38,600 miles, but i purchased it with 23k (certified which supposely exended the warranty to 39k) and have been taking it to the dealship for issues since the day of purchase. any help that you all can give me to help resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated. *ak

Dt*: the contact stated the brakes engaged three times while going 60 mph. each time, this happened the asc (automatic stability control) light illuminated on the dash. the first time this occurred, the vehicle was towed to the dealership. prior to this incident, the vehicle's abs engaged only at slow speeds. to repair this problem the dealership installed a new computer in the vehicle. when the problem recurred, the vehicle was taken to the dealership where the sensor will be replaced. the contact was unaware of the type of sensor. updated 7/5/2006 - *nm

Dt: the contact owns a 2005 buick terraza. the contact experienced brake failure while coming to a stop sign. she pressed the brakes and the brake light and the traction control light came on, and the vehicle was beeping . then it began to jump from service traction control system to service stability control system. the brakes went all the way to the floor and it still would not stop the vehicle. the contact pulled the emergency brake to stop the vehicle which was already out in the intersection. she contacted onstar ,they done a diagnostic test, and t said everything was fine, but told her to pull the car over. this vehicle was only four days old and already experiencing brake failure which occurred under normal braking conditions. the speed at the time of incident was around 20-30 mph. the vehicle was towed to a dealership, and they said that it was brake failure. the main component for the braking system failed and they did not know why. the repair invoice will be available. *ak

Every time the wheels are removed from my 2005 buick terraza, the rotors go out of round, and need to be replaced. i am wondering if any other owners have this complaint. we have had the rotors replaced three times in less than three years. they need to be replaced now. that makes it four times in less than three years. it is dangerous to have the rotors out of round. the mechanics believe it is because the tires are torqued too tight. why does this keep happening? it is getting pretty expensive. *tr

Where to start! the horn is very hard to work, the power sliding passenger door opens randomly and has been worked on countless times, there are vibrations in the floor, the brakes have been worked on countless times: front rotors turned twice and replaced once, rear brakes turned twice. interior and exterior lights randomly and constantly dim and brighten. tie rods replaced and all this with only 20000 on it! i have had this vehicle in the dealership for all problems and i guess this is as good as it gets with buick! *jb
