Defect SummaryVehicle description: certain sedans, hearse, and limousine vehicles fail to comply with requirements of fmvss no. 201, occupant protection in interior impact. these vehicles have sunvisor center supports with certain radii less than the 3.2mm required by the standard.
Consequence SummaryRadii less than 3.2mm can increase the possibility of certain types of injuries, like lacerations, if an occupant contacts the support during a crash.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the sunvisor center supports with redesigned supports. owner notification began november 28, 2001. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact cadillac at 1-800-458-8006.

 Sunvisor blocks my view out the front window. it is an assembly with two visors. the small visor interferes with the main visor. i can not see a traffic signal with the sun visor down. it is fine for short people, but not for me. dt

 Consumer received nhtsa recall # 01v172000/manufacturer's recall 01039 concerning sunvisor failure. called dealer about getting an appointment for repairs. consumer kept calling dealership and was told by service manger that no parts were available. *ak consumer still has not received recall repairs. *jb
