 Tl-the contact owns a 1997 cadillac eldorado touring. while driving approximately 65 mph the traction control system illuminated on the dashboard. he stated the abs system also illuminated shortly afterward and the vehicle jerked. the vehicle slowed down to 15 mph and he coasted to the side of road. he then shut the vehicle off and waited a few seconds and turned the vehicle on again. as he was getting back on the highway the failure happen again. the vehicle was taken the dealer and the dealer advised him that the failure could possibly be a corroded traction control system sensors or a abs system sensor. the contact stated he shut the traction control system off via his glove box. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was 34,800 and the approximate current mileage was 35,200. vwb

 Tl*the contact owns a 1997 cadillac eldorado. the contact depressed the accelerator pedal and heard a screeching noise coming from under the hood. the instrument panel indicated that the antilock brake system disengaged. the contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal again and the screeching noise recurred. after driving the vehicle for a few minutes, she pulled over and shut off the engine. she waited approximately one minute before restarting the vehicle and the abs message was no longer displayed on the instrument panel. the contact spoke with the dealer and was informed that the failure was due to the brakes. the dealer stated that her vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 97v064000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock), however, the contact believed it should be included. the failure mileage, purchase date, speed, and powertrain were unknown. the current mileage was 63,155.

 Dt*: the contact stated the abs light illuminated on the dash. there was a nhtsa recall, # 97v064000, regarding the service brakes; hydraulic; antilock. the vehicle was not included in the recall due to the vin.

 Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle makes noise and vibrates every time the brakes are applied. a variety of maneuvers are used to get the vehicle to brake effectively. the vehicle was seen by an independent mechanic determined the electronic brake control module or the electronic brake and traction control module needed to be replaced.
 When driving 30-35 mph and upon applying the brake pedal to make a normal stop gradually pulling the vehicle to the left, when the vehicle flipped over landing on the roof, totaling the vehicle. also, injurying the driver. recall number 97v064000 which indicate problem could result in a possible accident recall work was correct prior to the accident. please provide any further details.*ak

 Consumer complaint is concerning abs brake failure which was due to a defective module installed by dealer. consumer's wife was driving on the street, was appraoching oncoming traffic and stopped vehicle. when consumer applied the brake pedal,the vehicle failed to stop,causing the vehicle to hit the rear of a vehicle ahead. dealer notified and refuse to accept the defective part as a cause of the problem. *ak
