After driving the car for approximately six months, i began to detect a faint odor of gasoline which seemed to be coming from under the hood. i kept detecting this odor off and on for the next few months. then one day i was surprised and confused to see my gas gauge moving steadily toward empty as i drove along. i thought the gauge was broken, but it was not. instead, in about two miles, i had jettisoned an entire tank of gasoline as i drove. the problem turned out to be a ruptured plastic line leading to one of the fuel injectors. since that time, each of the fuel lines has ruptured one by one every 2 - 10 months for five years. then i learned there was a recall. i have seen the recall letter which states all 1995 cadillac sevilles have this problem, and mine certainly does. the dealer and gm say my car is not on the recall list. i have filed a formal complaint with gm and they still refuse to fix my car, stating that my vin# doesn't show up on their list.
