| Defect Summary | Carriage is recalling certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with 1200-series norcold refrigerators. the population of refrigerators being addressed contains either a sensing algorithm or thermal switch to shut off power to the refrigerator when high temperatures are detected in order to prevent a potential fire. the response times of the sensor algorithm and thermal switch devices to stop power are not sufficient. | |||||||||||||||

| 2008 cameo 35ft fifth wheel rv has improper wiring. *nj the consumer discovered the transfer panel was wired wrong when he attempted to connect a generator to the unit. it blew both speakers on the generator all the ac breakers, the power supply and the main fuse to the batteries. during a trip, the consumer discovered the left rear wheel would stay warm. then on the way home, the wheel was getting warmer and he had to use more of the brakes to stop the rv. the rv was taken to a repair shop where the wheel bearings were replaced. the mechanic stated the other three wheels were not connected to the electric wires for the brakes. on another trip, the consumer began having brake problems. he found the rear wheel wire had been mashed in, because the wire to the left rear wheel went over the axle between the axle and the frame instead of coming out of the backing plate in between the axle. *jb | |||
