| Gm recall #04007 tailgate cables used to replace recalled units are of unequal length, causing one unit to bear the entire load. i contacted gm (case#1-28-69-61625), and was basically told to like it or lump it. i sincerely hope this problem does not cause another fatality like timothy michaud of maine.*ak | |||

| 2001 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd tail gate cable. right side tailgate cable broke and tailgate fell off while driving. damaging tailgate and side of truck. remaning cable caused tailgate to swing out past the left side of truck. luckaly there were no oncoming vehicles. | |||
