The seat belt retractor works only sometimes and when it fails the belt gets caught in the door. belt is now shredded in some places making it unsafe. i contacted chevrolet numorous times about this and just wanted a replacement to buy. they said they no longer made them. first try was 1997, then 1999, and now 2001. they need to keep safety items in stock. i have a friend that has a gmc jimmy fullsize 1987, same exact problem. that is reason i am trying again, this time with the goverment. thank you. *ak | |||
