| Defect Summary | These vehicles exhibit a condition in which a rear seat belt buckle release button can stick in the unlatched (down) position under certain conditions because the buckle assembly can move inside the seat belt cover. if the cover moves far enough, it can create an interference condition with the latch release button. when it does, the seat belt buckle cannot be latched. | |||||||||||||||

| The seat belt retractor works only sometimes and when it fails the belt gets caught in the door. belt is now shredded in some places making it unsafe. i contacted chevrolet numorous times about this and just wanted a replacement to buy. they said they no longer made them. first try was 1997, then 1999, and now 2001. they need to keep safety items in stock. i have a friend that has a gmc jimmy fullsize 1987, same exact problem. that is reason i am trying again, this time with the goverment. thank you. *ak | |||
