| 1st issue; in sept/2000 i wrote a letter to nhtsa about having to replace the cfi unit. from what i understand, the cfi unit has been re-engineered because of many failures. the oem unit could cause cylinder wall damage, fuel can leak into the oil sump, posible engine fire and shortened engine life. i feel gm should be responsible for replacing this unit at full cost. 2nd issue: my blazer started peeling paint on the hood in 2001. is their anything i do to get gm repaint my blazer? 3rd issue; in feb/2003 my \\\"antilock brake light\\\" that\\\'s on the instrument panel, comes on when the vehicle reaches a speed of about 18 - 20 mph and goes out when the vehicle slows below this speed. when the engine is started, it goes though a normal check of systems, the light is on for a short time and goes out, but comes on when you reach a speed of 18 - 20 mph. i\\\'ve taken the blazer to a gm dealer for repair but the mechanic can\\\'t figure it out. he clears all codes but it doesn\\\'t fix the problem. the dealer hasn\\\'t charged me any money for his time to date. | |||

| Recall 99i006000/ manufacturer's recall 99046; consumer is having a brake problem. consumer had recall repairs done, and engine check light kept coming on. dealer told consumer to drive it home because the computer needed to be reset. consumer then found that there was a wire lying on the floor. dealer forgot to reconnect it, and that caused engine check light to stay on. dealers had to put back the old part for the brake module instead of the new part because consumer has to get the hydraulic brakes fixed before they could put new part in for the brake module . when the brakes were applied after leaving the dealer, they went straight to the floor & started doing a up& down motion before they finally stopped vehicle from rearending another vehicle. *ak | |||

| Engine surges then sputters, bad odor. engine checklight came on. egr had been previously replaced, fix for problem is not a fix. brakes and steering lock up when engine fails, obviously this is a known problem. a real fix needs to be had. | |||

| On a 4-lane hwy and the check engine light came on , came off the hwy onto a ramp, applied abs brakes to make a stop, the brakes did not work because egr valves failed , but there was no warning. please give more details. *ak | |||
