The car surged and lost oxygen to brakes, etc. i have had exhaust system replaced, new tires, new computer e prom, egr valve cleaned numerous times, new injector unit installed, brakes replaced, total tuneup to try and rectify the problem. i still continue to have to have the carbon cleaned out of the egr valve as the car will not run properly. i purchased the blazer from ricko ent. inc. 16 moulton rd, rochester, nh, 03867.also known as first city motor sales in rochester nh. the owner, richard ottino agreed to cover the cost of repairs but never did. the total of repairs that i have paid to date is $1,266.00. i sent the dealership a certified letter with all copies of the repair bills.

Consumer stated that while driving and without warning, the egr valve failed, which caused the brakes to fail. dealer notified. *ak the mixing with the fuel was the biggest problem. (when there was carbon build up in the egr valve, it would leave it open and caused no vacuum hard pedal and brake failure. when it rained or was cold the truck ran rough. the service light came on when the vehicle had run rough more than once, noise was present and there was a smell of burnt wires and the ignition switch was replaced, the brake pedal seemed soft on more than one occasion and the master cylinder and other brake components were replaced to try and solve the problem, the cd player had not worked since the ignition switch was changed, the rear windshield wipers had become inoperative, a noise would occur when turning but was not duplicated, and the muffler tail pipe had fallen off and rusted due to carbon build-up. the egr valve was cleaned but the problem persisted. the mechanic stated that in order to perform a proper job, the excessive carbon build up in the upper and lower intake manifold which effected the egr pendel, and the 02 sensor could cause a problem with the exhaust system, catalytic converter, fuel pump, the brakes, etc. the brakes squeaked, there were no dash lights, no air conditioning, and no 4-wheel drive. the fuel injections needed to be checked, and there were two recall stickers on the engine. *scc the rear wiper motor, fuel injectors and brakes were replaced. *jb

We have had repeated problems with this vehicle from approximately 4000 and going forward. the first indication of problems with electrical was when the emergency flashers were used the first time and it blew the electrical system at approximately 4000 miles we had owned the blazer less than 6 months at this time. we have had service engine check light indicator problems repeatedly and was told every time but 1 that it was nothing and later we have problems that are conveniently not covered under the warranty any more. the soft plugs blew in the engine in 9-1999 and we were told by the garage that repaired this that he had seen this before ... the antifreeze used deteriorates the plugs and they eventually leak and the engine overheats. the gm dealer that we took the blazer to on this occasions for a second opinion 11-2000 --this dealer had another 1995 blazer in the shop at the same time with the exact same problem. i thought this was odd for a town of 25,000 people and of course the 800 line to gm customer services advised me that it wan't anything that could be covered. we also had the leather seat replaced on driver side 2 times but continue to have problems with leather splitting and of course this is not covered.. all we are able to get from gm is the answer no whenever we feel that something should be covered... we have put over 2000 .00 in repairs in the engine and wipers and fuel injection system in the past from 9-1999 thru 11 28 2000.... and the problems continues.. the service engine soon lifht comes on and the air bag light goes off and on and stay s on for long periods of time... and of course when i called last week on the air bag... lite it was. *ak

5 egr vlaves replaced, one every year. the cooling sysyem has failed having to be replaced and flushed twice in the last thirteen months and is still making the same noise we have heard for the last year and a half. the fuel injectors have been replaced twice in the last fourteen months ! the rotors have been resurfaced twice, replaced once and we still need to replace the pads every 8-12 months, regardless of milage. the extended warranty is up on this vehicle in one year. my question to chevrolet is who will incur these costs that both gm and the dealer admitted to being product problems !!!!

Central port fuel injection unit burned out which caused fuel to leak within my engine. the problem also caused various hoses to become defective. this was a dangerous situation since leaking fuel could have sparked a fire. understand from the a car mechanic this is the first time a vortex engine was used which could have contributed to the problem. i contacted chevy via internet on july 8th but they were unconcerned. i feel a recall should happen with this problem, especially when i hear about the other owners of 1995 blazers that have the same problem.

This is a followup to a previously reported problem. the service lite has intermittently come on onthis vehicle since the 40k range . the egr valve,an injector and various incidental parts were replaced in november,1998 at 78000 miles during two separate service visits . the vehicle again experience identical problems in april 1999 at 84000 miles which include rough running and stalling at slow speeds and the service engine light again coming during the rough running periods. the veihcle was returned to the dealer who first replaced the sensor-ox(part #102) this did not correct the problem and 3 days latter a new egr valve had to be instaled on 4/16/99. due to these repeated problems i feel it is dangerous to drive this vehicle since you never know when the problem will reoccur and the vecle will again stall and run rough, making it an adventure when you are slowing or attempting to merge in traffic.

Tl*the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet blazer. while driving 63 mph, the fuel injector stopped working and the engine began to stall. there were no warning indicators before the failure occurred. there was a loss of power steering and the engine eventually shut off when the contact pulled to the side of the road. the contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive it to the mechanic. the weather was not a factor. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 06e041000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings). the mechanic stated that the fuel injection valve failed and the vehicle was repaired with the new parts. the incident occurred again several months later. the contact received an invoice. the current mileage was 219,000 and failure mileage was 206,000.

Initially replaced egr valve in 1998, have replaced it 4 additional times (by chevy dealer) within two years. build-up of carbon in the engine causing stalling, shaking and failure of engine in traffic. brakes tend to stick as well. erroneously charged for two fuel injectors that were not needed due to misdiagnosis of problem. car has sat for last 3 weeks while attempting to contact chevy customer service at hq, was given promises of refunds, call backs and have not heard from anyone. looked at this site and saw other owners with same problem, possible recall but we were not notified by the dealer or chevrolet. in addition both rear seat belts stopped working nearly two years ago where our young son often sits. seeking possible legal action for reimbursement, replacement of vehicle or final repair of defects.
