| The back seat middle buckle broke into two pieces and now it is broken, then the right side back seat buckle is in some kind of locking mode and then the right side passenger belt locked up too a few days later. now i have only two seat belts that work in the suv. i have called the local chevy dealers hoping that they could help with this problem but they said it would be almost 400.00 to fix this problem. my brother owned a 1990 honda civic and brought it to a honda dealer and they fixed it at no cost because belts are safety issue and have a life time warranty. i thought chevy would have the warranty but the chevy dealer inform no and never will that happen. please help try to fix this problem. i am a single mother of four young children and if it possible to do myself, i am willing to do it, because this is my own only transportation to get to work and school for our family and i can not use my suv until i have get this safety issue worked out. please please help me. i have purchased four belts for my pulley for my suv and still have the same problem. its sounds like a squeaking and whistling. i have had replacement it myself the first time but it still did the same thing so i brought my car to local mechanic and still no luck, so i bought it to chevy it worked fine for a few weeks then started it again, so new one was put on. then a couple months later it started again, so they put another new belt, then it started up again a few months later but the one year warranty time was up,but it still does it. is this normal? *tr | |||

| Wipers don't work then work won't shut off for a long time, usually shut off during a downpour, cruise control quit working, flashers sound erratic won't shut off unless brake is pressed, passenger side seat adjustment handle broke off, i have cut my leg numerous times as well as others. passenger side seat belt won't lock just pulls out. drivers side seat recline broke off only used that about 5 times. now one of the rear hatch shocks broke off the bracket that holds the shock in place cracked off, hatch door is really heavy. the right flasher flashes real fast even though it still works. i will never ever buy a chevy blazer again or anything even close this vehicle has been nothing but a pain in my butt for 10 years. i absolutely hate it!! it's becoming a hazard to drive because of the wipers acting sporadic all the time and with winter coming early it's scary. i hope something is done about this soon. i been reading about other peoples problems and their exactly like mine. somebody said something about a multifunction board to repair it. yeah their 200.00 dollars and have to take apart the steering column. i shouldn't have to pay one penny for all my repairs that i need.. shame on gm. *tr | |||

| Front driver's side door does not latch due to the body of the strike plate on driver's side caving in. *ak there was a crack around the sticker plate. the dealer adjusted the driver side sticker plate. the problem remained the same after adjustments were made. two months after purchase the consumer would hear rattling on the passenger and the drivers side door. the seat belt would not release, the encoder motor had become inoperative after the module shorted, the stabilizer link nuts were missing, the left door would rattle when driven over bumps, when braking, a squealing noise was heard, there was a hesitation in the transmission when changing the reverse, the trip meter was inoperative, the was a rattle in the dash when driven over bumps, there was an oil leak, there was a rattle in the front suspension when driven over bumps, the left rear door would open by itself, and the tail gate rattled. *sc *jb | |||

| Seat recliner handles just break off this is common on all blazer with the same reclining bucket seats the part is 70 bucks a side 2 hours labor per side! and the passenger side has hardly ever been used that just broke off i have addressed this problem with gm and they coz my car is a 98 there is nothing they can do this is a big safty issue and every blazer person i have talked too has had the same problem | |||

| I have contacted gm several times to no avail.here are my problems.the right side latch on the seat has been replaced three times by apple valley cherolet. now the one on the left has broken.this is a two door vehicle and the only way to get in and out of back seat.this car is not mistreated to have this happen.three times it has left me sitting and wont start sometimes you can tell when its going to happen because the lights will dim and the charging gage will drop they have tried to repair this but havent,the windsheild wipers now will delay for about five times then they just stop in the middle of the windsheild or keep running as fast as they can until you turn them off and start over,the four wheel drive system kicks in on its own and you have to stop to get it back to two wheel drive,not the light on the dash it stays in two,the brakes are spongee and go almost all the way to the floor,gm said my blazer wasnt in the recall for the brakes because of where it was made,the exhaust smells like sewer i dont know if i have an exhaust leak or not,when i received this vehicle i ordered it in december of 97 and received it in feb. of 98.the bolt was missing off of the strut,they replaced that and alligned the front end and it still will not stay in allignment,since the warranty has ran out 4,000 miles ago we have replaced a belt tightner and a water pump | |||

| Child seated in rear seat belted with a shoulder harness type seat belt. she lay down to sleep, buckled in, and in doing so became entangled in the belt in such a way the belt wrapped around her body on complete times. when she realized she was trapped she unbuckled her belt. this resulted in the lock mechanism engaging, further constricing and drawing her up. the belt had be cut in order to free child. | |||
