| I have multiple complaints, the gas gauge on my vehicle stop working and i ran out of gas in the middle of the street when i realized problem 2 the rear brake lights and hazard lights do not work. the other problem is the vehicle stalls, and when it finally take off, the car jerks and the driver seat moves/slides back from the hinges which caused me to not be able to reach my breaks and run into a curb. also the driver side door sticks and is difficult to open. lastly the wheel baring and ball joints have gone bad twice and the car has less then 75000 miles on it. i called gm customer service department and explained all of my concerns and was told they we not aware of any nationwide problem and there was nothing they could do except fix the hazard light malfunction. i researched on the net and found many many people complaining of the same concerns i have. *jb | |||

| I have had numerous problems with my 2000 chevy blazer ls 4x4. under warranty the dealer replaced the oil lines by the oil filter, whole seat mechanism, driver side window motor, rear shock. they also fixed my hood rattle after 5 visits to the dealer and i told them what was wrong the first time it went in. since then at 40,000 miles the driver side wheel bearing went out and had it replaced and at the same time had the fuel pump replaced since that went out also. at 50,000 miles the same one went out again and had it replaced. now at 68,000 miles the passenger side wheel bearing is bad. also on my first wheel bearing replacement, they told me the ball joints were very loose and should think about replacing those also. these things should never be going wrong with such low miles. from what i am reading on the web and hearing from the dealers, this is a very frequent problem that chevy will not recall and take responsibility. i sure am happy that i haven't had a wheel fall off and kill someone yet. *jb | |||

| The seat back adjustment levers broke on both the driver and passenger seats. the metal shaft is defective. the cheverolet dealer quoted $300 per seat. there is a service bulletin issued #060601 for this problem and numerous complaints to the nhtsa web site. cheverolet will not correct the problem because it has not been identified as a safety issue. if the drivers seat gets broken in the full recline position, this would be a safety hazard for the driver. | |||

| Driver and passenger seat recliner handle broke off within two days of each other. can not adjust seat back to proper/safe driving position. seat continues to recline backwards making it un-safe to drive. contacted dealer while under warranty. they would not fix without charges. have found numerous defects on this condition posted on the bullitin boards and provided the dealer with this and they still would not fix the problems without charging me. i should not have to pay to get this fixed when there is an apparent defect in this product. dt | |||

| The gas pedal sticks 75% of the time upon initial acceleration, whether that is from a stopped position or accelerating after slowing. the sticking is such that force has to be exerted to get the pedal to depress thereby causing lurching of the vehicle. in parking lot situations or on icy roads this can be potentially very dangerous. also, both front seat adjusters that allow the seat to be repositioned have broken off while trying to repostion the seat. when we reported these items to our dealer they said these are common problems they are seeing frequently. if this is so i feel it is a defect of the manufacturer. the seat levers were plastic painted to look like metal and both broke off within a week of each other. dt | |||

| Engine stalled while driving, dealer determined fuel gauge was broken, mastercard was replaced.*ak consumer stated the gas gauge read ? of a tank, dealer found broken fuel card and replaced the card, parking brake hose broke of and drum was rusty causing parking brake to hang up, dealer replaced damaged shoes and rusted drums, brake lights and lights intermittently inoperative, while braking and turning to the right vehicle is making grinding noise from front, dealer replaced left hub, while driving brakes make noise, dealer found rotors out of round, wipers will intermittently not work, and also there was a burning smell coming from fuse area, driver side seat would not lock into place and the recliner broke, drivers side door panel was loose, dealer replaced side door panel and drivers window was loose and rattling, molding was also rattling. *yd | |||

| Consumer was inside the parked vehicle, adjusted the driver's side seat and seat lever sheared off. driver 's seat failed to move back and forth on its own. consumer contacted took vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic repaired the part. but this problem recurred, and had not been resolved. consumer contacted the dealer, who informed consumer that the warranty expired. consumer was responsible for payment for parts and labor. *ak while adjusting the seat the latch that goes up/down broke the second time. consumer paid $100.00 deductible to get it repaired. warranty expired. *ak | |||

| The handle that allows you to recline the seat broke off flushed with the seat, this happened to both the driver and passenger seats in june 2005. the hood will not pop up when the lever was pulled until one banged on the grill or the hood in certain spots, which just started in march of 2007. the gas mileage dropped from 20 mpg to 16 mpg within 6 months. the back glass stuck and was hard to open, started in 2006. when turning on the air conditioner (a/c ) the car had no power, i have to turn it off when accelerating on the interstate or on hills. if the cruise control was set it kicked off when the a/c was on. when i needed to stop quickly the brakes failed, and felt a grinding sensation through the pedal, but the mechanic changed the brakes and checked the rotors, but hasn't found any problem. suspected a defect somewhere in the brake system as of 2005. the fan kicked on all the time, even when the engine was cold, and in winter when first starting. one mechanic told me that in many blazers the catalytic converter broke off in the muffler, which had to be replaced. had been told this happened so much that most people left them off. too many other problems to mentioned. also, the horn worked only when it wanted to, problem in the steering wheel. *ak | |||

| Owns a 2000 chevrolet blazer zr2 with 68000 miles. the heater blows cold air only. the alternator has been replaced at least twice. i replaced it once, and previous owner replaced it once . battery has been replaced at least twice. all ball joints replaced at least once to my knowledge. fuel gauge broke before 50000 miles. seat handle on passenger's side broken before 50000 miles. tailgate won't open. passenger side windshield wiper only moves half the time. that is all that i can recall right now.*ak | |||

| The driver's seat back adjustment lever broke off at the rod connecting it. , no adjusting could be done. the part was repaired, and a new handle had to be ordered, because chevrolet decidedr rod, made out of a heavier metal, which wouldn't fit the old lever. the resulting charges were $76.35 for the recliner, $8.37 for the handle, and $86.40 for labor. there are just over 59,000 mi. on this 2000 blazer.*ak | |||

| Numerous problems. all after warranty expired. have a 2000 chevrolet s10 blazer 2 dr. it is a 4x4 with a 4.3l v6. seat handles broke a couple of times. terrible lifespan on those. had replaced twice.*ak replaced defective alternator. wasn't holding charge. also led to a new battery and serpentine belt. had to replace fuses for fuel gauge. it was jumping all over the place giving incorrect readings. had to replace numerous fuses. terrible whining coming from the fuel pump. chevy dealer tells me it is testing fine. but now i am having what seems like vapor lock problems on hot days. i'll go to accelerate and the vehicle will go no where and then catch and accelerate. acts like it's going to die but hasn't yet. diagnostics showed nothing. terribly sporatic and makes vehicle unsafe and unreliable. it has 60,000 miles on it now. ongoing problem to this day and i'm trying to determine if the lack of acceleration is the pump or another problem. pedal not sticking like it was a throttle linkage. rear windshield pump does not work. chevy rim caps keep breaking and coming off. $30 dollars apprx. for each one and have had to replace all four at least once. | |||

| I had the front recliner fixed and at a later date had the passenger side front recliner fixed. now 22 months later the driver side front recliner is broken again. i am not rough with my seats and i think that this is rediculous that these keep breaking. the cost to get these fixed is around 140.00 each. i don't think that i will ever buy another chevy product again. i don't beleive that this should be something that i should have to fix every 2 years.*ak | |||

| The lever on the front drivers and passenger seats that reclines the seats back. they snap right off. they have replaced one at cost now both are broke. the bad thing is it happened to me out of town and i had to find some pillows to prop me up enough to drive. now i have to use pliers. but this can happen if you try to recline a little back while driving and may go all the way back and you can't get it back up.*ak | |||

| I purchased my chevrolet blazer new at the end of 1999 and it has been in the shop so much i know all 15 of the mechanics by there first name. the battery has been replaced at least 3 times, the alternator has been changed 3 times, the automatic transmission has been replaces, the seat handles have been replaced more than once, the seat belts have been replaced from locking up, the front end has had work done to it and still is not fixed, the rear right speaker does not work, the fuel gauge has been replaced, the gas petal sticks i haft to clean the card at least every month, the heater core has been replaced 3 times and it still does not get hot. i was told that this was caused by the orange antifreeze and was told that chey would not warranty their 5 year antifreeze and the dealer told me that i needed a $500.00 engine flush that i could do my shelf for $10.00 but i was then told that the engine was corroded up inside and i would need a new motor and they would not pay for it even under warranty. i called gm complaint line and was told that they new of the problem and they could not offer me any help. the complaint line was a joke and a waste of my time. i will never buy another chevy this is my second vehicle. my first was a s10 and i had the same problems. *ak | |||

| I have a 2000 chevy blazer with 44,000 miles. since the warranty expired in july i have had numerous problems that seem to be common among owns of this type of vehicle. gm refuses to address these items since the car is just out of warranty. some i consider to be safety issues. they are as follows: accelerator pedal sticks, seat recliner handle is broken, fuel gauge does not work properly and 4 wheel drive will not engage. for a vehicle that is just over 3.5 years old this is unacceptable. i will probably not purchase another gm vehicle due to these problems and will probably purchase a european auto, their engineering and customer service are far superior to our us automakers. *ak | |||

| I just purchased a certified used blazer in july of 2003. it was in for its scheduled maintenance and while there the technician snapped off the driver's side seat adjustment handle, which my dealer later replaced. not two weeks later the passenger side handle snapped off as well. my dealer will not replace the passenger side without charging me for parts and labor.i feel that this is a manufactured defect. i have researched this subject and have found many other unhappy consumers like myself regarding this issue. *ak | |||

| Purchased 2000 blazer 11/24/00. many problems since. transmission cooler line, warranty repair. oil cooler lines, upper and lower, warranty repair. warranty expired and they are leaking still. problem never really fixed. idler arm, warranty repair. driver side recline handle driver seat fell back would not return to upright position, warranty repair. both front wheel bearings and rotors, warranty repair. from day 1 numerous rattles and squeaks. door panels rattle constantly. passenger seat rattles and squeaks. windshield wiper entire arm came off, repaired at my expense. out of warranty, at 41,699 miles but not even (2) years old, transmission had to be rebuilt at my expense. chevy customer service is a joke! cost of transmission $2,442 and the cost of a two week car rental. even when transmission line had to be repaired we had to rent a car at our expense because local dealer refused to supply a loaner. again chevy customer service a joke! called chevy hot line/help line and was just given the run around. i will never buy chevy american made auto again. why is it you can buy any item at most department stores and take it back and receive satisfaction, but spend $25,000+ for a chevy product and you are screwed when you simply want the reliability and service you were promised. i tell every person i meet not to buy a chevy. solid like a rock? what a lie! *jb | |||

| Suspension front and rear-upper and lower ball joints(front)left and right sides idler arm and both rear leaf springs needed to be replaced. warped rotors left and right. left door lock cylinder fell off. dealer replaced right rear speaker under warranty. front seat recliner levers replaced resulting in split cost with dealer. manufacturer rep offered labor/parts split for suspension work and brake work for $1400.00. refused work on door lock in excess of $300.00. *jb | |||

| While driving 25 mph the transmission failed. the dealer was notified about 7 months ago but they could not duplicate or correct the problem. *ak the dealer was notified of the shruddering and slippage of the transmission at 23863. the front differential pinion seal leaked, the check light was replaced due to the malfunctioning switch, the brake light had become inoperative due to an open circuit, the heating seat was inoperative, there was a rattle in right front suspension, the transmission had no reverse, and there was hard shifting into the forward gears. *scc | |||
