| Occasionally the front wipers on my 2000 chevy blazer would stop working for no reason at all and eventually after a few minutes would kick back on, but as of yesterday dec 21 2008 they will not come back on. i was informed that this is probably due to a bad wiper circuit board. this same problem occurred and had a recall for a 1997 chevy s10 pickup. and guess what??? they use the same part number. however chevy will not replace the wiper circuit board on my vehicle because there was never a recall on my specific vehicle model/year. if it is the same part and i am having the same problem this should be replaced by the manufacturer. now out of pocket i am looking at $150 or a little more depending on what parts store i can find this circuit board at. i called several dealerships and the chevy 1-800#. to me this is unacceptable, if it is the same part number that had a problem in a previous vehicle then it should be covered under the recall notice. *tr | |||

| When the comfort control system mode knob is turned to the off position, the front floor outlets direct hot air through these lower vents. moving the temperature knob to blue (coldest area) has no effect. warm hot air continues to vent with system in off position. while the owner's manuel advises that when mode knob is in the off position some outside air will still enter the vehicle. it is very hot air not outside air that enters the vehicle. the only way to isolate the hot air is to never select off on mode switch, and selecting either air conditioning or vent position (selecting the latter shuts off the hot air floor vents but then instrument panel vents must be individually closed to stop air flow . i have had my vehicle in twice for this problem and was advised npf, no problem found. i believe one service manager was most correct in advising that this was a design fault by chevrolet. i confirmed that there are quite a number of blazer owners in web site auto chat room that are frustrated with this flaw. my main concern is that the air is so hot that even when artificially isloted by non-standard ventilation control selections, there may be damage under the panels or to the ventilation or electrical sytems. *ak | |||
| While driving noticed inside of vehicle would overheat up to 120 degrees. this caused driver's legs to become very red. had taken vehicle to dealership, and was informed by mechanic that problem was okay in the beginning. went back to dealership, and was informed that problem lies with way vehicle was built. there was nothing that could be done. vehicle was leased. *ak | |||

| The handle that allows you to recline the seat broke off flushed with the seat, this happened to both the driver and passenger seats in june 2005. the hood will not pop up when the lever was pulled until one banged on the grill or the hood in certain spots, which just started in march of 2007. the gas mileage dropped from 20 mpg to 16 mpg within 6 months. the back glass stuck and was hard to open, started in 2006. when turning on the air conditioner (a/c ) the car had no power, i have to turn it off when accelerating on the interstate or on hills. if the cruise control was set it kicked off when the a/c was on. when i needed to stop quickly the brakes failed, and felt a grinding sensation through the pedal, but the mechanic changed the brakes and checked the rotors, but hasn't found any problem. suspected a defect somewhere in the brake system as of 2005. the fan kicked on all the time, even when the engine was cold, and in winter when first starting. one mechanic told me that in many blazers the catalytic converter broke off in the muffler, which had to be replaced. had been told this happened so much that most people left them off. too many other problems to mentioned. also, the horn worked only when it wanted to, problem in the steering wheel. *ak | |||

| I have had numerous problems with my 2000 chevy blazer ls 4x4. under warranty the dealer replaced the oil lines by the oil filter, whole seat mechanism, driver side window motor, rear shock. they also fixed my hood rattle after 5 visits to the dealer and i told them what was wrong the first time it went in. since then at 40,000 miles the driver side wheel bearing went out and had it replaced and at the same time had the fuel pump replaced since that went out also. at 50,000 miles the same one went out again and had it replaced. now at 68,000 miles the passenger side wheel bearing is bad. also on my first wheel bearing replacement, they told me the ball joints were very loose and should think about replacing those also. these things should never be going wrong with such low miles. from what i am reading on the web and hearing from the dealers, this is a very frequent problem that chevy will not recall and take responsibility. i sure am happy that i haven't had a wheel fall off and kill someone yet. *jb | |||

| Front passenger door would stick it would take all your effort to open it. they adjusted the door stricker and lubed the hinges 5/24/00. 7/25/00 door was still sticking again they adjusted door and stricker. powertrain- rear 7/25/00 reported that rear shakes and shimmys on acceleration from a stop. they could not duplicate. 8/30/00 took in again for shutter in rear, they replaced 1 gasket 5.399 sp 2 bearings 5.536 sp and 1 case asm 5.510. 6/1/01 took in for the air bag light staying on found history code for no communication between computers could not get it to duplicate. 7/16/01 air bag light check for history codes reset and test drove could not find problem. i also had no brake lights this visit. it had blown 3 fuses. they found that multifuntion switch was defective and was hoping that that would solve the air bag problem. 9/25/01 took in for air bag light again. codes that showed up were v1000, v1016,v1041,v1064,v1096 reset codes said that it was stating that it was not registering a problem wit the air bag. this trip i had the window lock overide replaced. all windows were locked except for the drivers. 10/10/01 took back in for air bag light. not registering again. traced wiring to splice pak 201 cleaned and reroute and reinstall buss. this trip the rear passenger door lock was not working and it was replaced. told me to call if light came on again. 10/23/01 light came on while driving home. called and took back to shop 10/24/01. it was not reading any codes. they drove car 140 miles and could not get it to come on. they told me the next time it comes on if in daytime monday- friday to call them and they will come and get the car, not to cut it off and they will hook it up to the computer while the light is still on. please help!!!!! what options do i have? does the lemon law apply here???? | |||

| Passenger's side power window would not respond to switch to stop or lower window while dog head was hanging out of window. local fire department arrived to break window before dog choked to death. dealer notified, and was unwilling to assist in this situation. consumer states dealership was notified on several occasions but has declined to take any action. *jb | |||

| The right side outside mirror cannot be properly adjusted to eliminate a blind spot. it locks in to a normal driving position and even the power adjustment cannot move the mirror far enought out. the preset mounted angle is wrong. i called the service manager and he told me i am not the first to complain and even he, when he was using a blazer noted that the mirror would not take a proper setting. he told me he even called around and was told that's the way it's comes from the factory and cannot be changed. it must be corrected so the blind spot on the right side is eliminated. *ak | |||

| Problems that are not saftey issues: air conditioning doesn't work; door hinge pin needs to be replaced; driver's window slips off track to the outside of the frame, resulting in the back side of the window cracked at least a 1/4 of an inch (was told by friendly chevrolet in springfield il that this is a design problem and can not be fixed; called chevrolet and was told to take it back to dealer and pay them to reevaluate the problem; ) safty issues: ball joints need to be replaced;gas gauge sending unit doesn't work;;differential is leaking and plug connected to this needs to be drilled out and rethreaded to find out how bad the leak is; windshield wiper on driver's side loose and flips off to the left of the windshield in heavy rain and snow; electrical harnass needs to be replaced; engine insolation pealing off under hood; engine light on continually; car stalls intermitantly(first time it happened, was told the engine had overheated); at every start up, engine stays in nuetral (has no excellerator power)then catches after about three minutes); work done: thermostat hoses replaced;distributor replaced;spark plug wires and spark plugs replaced; sepentine belt replaced; part between the axle and the u joints needed to be replaced; oil leak fixed;fuel injector replaced; i have no idea what will go wrong when; it's like playing russian rullett while driving; have rented vehicle twice; will also need to rent vehicle for cross country road trip next week; will not risk driving this car; (incident date: first incident-day estimated) | |||

| Never took in for rear wiper. started leaking oil, so took to dealer here in roosevelt 21, dec. started to provo jan. 10, cruise control went off, speedometer would not work, this caused the car to not shift. pulled off road as car stops, turned car back on, turned around to return home. afraid to continue over mountains. took to murry motors, could not find anything wrong. took for a 30 minute mile ride and it happened again. will take back this following monday to be checked again. can not drive if it wont shift. took to murray motors for oil leak. they replaced two hoses. not connected properly, causing leak. thanks mrs. riding. *jb ****dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis*****770837 | |||

| Engine stalled while driving, dealer determined fuel gauge was broken, mastercard was replaced.*ak consumer stated the gas gauge read ? of a tank, dealer found broken fuel card and replaced the card, parking brake hose broke of and drum was rusty causing parking brake to hang up, dealer replaced damaged shoes and rusted drums, brake lights and lights intermittently inoperative, while braking and turning to the right vehicle is making grinding noise from front, dealer replaced left hub, while driving brakes make noise, dealer found rotors out of round, wipers will intermittently not work, and also there was a burning smell coming from fuse area, driver side seat would not lock into place and the recliner broke, drivers side door panel was loose, dealer replaced side door panel and drivers window was loose and rattling, molding was also rattling. *yd | |||

| Owns a 2000 chevrolet blazer zr2 with 68000 miles. the heater blows cold air only. the alternator has been replaced at least twice. i replaced it once, and previous owner replaced it once . battery has been replaced at least twice. all ball joints replaced at least once to my knowledge. fuel gauge broke before 50000 miles. seat handle on passenger's side broken before 50000 miles. tailgate won't open. passenger side windshield wiper only moves half the time. that is all that i can recall right now.*ak | |||

| Purchased 2000 blazer 11/24/00. many problems since. transmission cooler line, warranty repair. oil cooler lines, upper and lower, warranty repair. warranty expired and they are leaking still. problem never really fixed. idler arm, warranty repair. driver side recline handle driver seat fell back would not return to upright position, warranty repair. both front wheel bearings and rotors, warranty repair. from day 1 numerous rattles and squeaks. door panels rattle constantly. passenger seat rattles and squeaks. windshield wiper entire arm came off, repaired at my expense. out of warranty, at 41,699 miles but not even (2) years old, transmission had to be rebuilt at my expense. chevy customer service is a joke! cost of transmission $2,442 and the cost of a two week car rental. even when transmission line had to be repaired we had to rent a car at our expense because local dealer refused to supply a loaner. again chevy customer service a joke! called chevy hot line/help line and was just given the run around. i will never buy chevy american made auto again. why is it you can buy any item at most department stores and take it back and receive satisfaction, but spend $25,000+ for a chevy product and you are screwed when you simply want the reliability and service you were promised. i tell every person i meet not to buy a chevy. solid like a rock? what a lie! *jb | |||

| I purchased my 2000 blazer in 6/20/02 from a chevy dealer in pa . i purchased the extended warranty . i have until 6/07 or100000 miles i have replaced the coil and distributor cap and rotor 5 times a new fuel pump a catalytic converter windshield washer motor and turn signal switch it has gotten to the point that i can't even sell it to anyone private and i can't afford to keep it . there has been electrical and computer issues shorts that melted the fuse box under the hood that melted the relay for the fuel pump. also there was a short that wiped the computer codes out and i had a rough time passing emission testing i am at the point the extended warranty does not want to spend any more on the vehicle. i have had the motor mounts replaced twice in 4 years. i have never been notified of any recalls orservice notices . i have had the vehicle serviced by licensed mechanics and had it serviced at the appropriate mileage required for the warranty. *nm | |||
