| Noted difficulty in distance needed to stop about 1 year ago. also braking jerkiness. took to gm dealer repairs (new brakes) about 400.00 after a few weeks problem returned another gm dealer bill of 300.00 (for brakes) (believed first set may be faulty) then after a few weeks problem returned took to a different dealer and the wheel speed sensors cleaned then the problem returned a few weeks later. vehicle is very unstable, unsafe to drive. *jb | |||

| Have 1998 chevrolet silverado club cab pickup truck. when slowing to stop, the abs braking system malfunctions and the brakes prohibit the truck from coming to a stop in time. have read of investigation with abs brakes on other years. the 1998 is no different. i've had many close calls and much difficulty in getting some answers as to why were other years recalled and not the 1998. it is doing the same thing other models have a history of doing.*jb | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1998 chevrolet c1500. while driving between 5-50 mph, the brake pedal extended to the floor when it was depressed. the brake pedal was depressed several times before the pedal popped back up. the check engine warning light illuminated. the brake pads and rotors were replaced, but the failure continued. the dealer stated that the electronic brake module failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 70,000 and current mileage was 98,000. updated 7/3/08 *cn the master cylinder was replaced. updated | |||

| Master cylinder leaks, causing brake fluid to leak, and resulting in no braking ability. master cylinder parts were replaced 3 times. however, problem is reoccurring. dealer cannot determine the cause. please provide further information. *ak | |||
