When pushing the brake pedal, there is a resistance, a grinding noise, and truck does not stop. if you let off the pedal and immediately push it again, problem is stopped. very stressful driving this truck, which is our only vehicle at this time. numerous times we have almost rear ended cars or hit buildings in parking spaces. we took it to a garage, they replaced both rear calipers at $375.00, before i even pulled out of the parking lot the brakes did it again. now we can't afford to replace the abs sensor due to the caliper bill. we live in kentucky, why weren't we included in the recall? if ohio and indiana get snow, so do we and they were in the recall.

While driving, the owner heard a buzzing sound and then the abs light illuminated. the engine of the abs brakes continued running even after the owner pulled over. the manufacture has issued a recall for the 2000 models for abs brakes. the owner feels that the recall should also involve the 1999 trucks due to the similarity in failure. please describe details. ts

The truck has been to the dealer often and they admited they could not guarntee they have fixed the front end the service mgr crossed his fingers and with a response that he hope so we dont drive the truck often for fear of an accident either the wheels locking up or the brakes failing, he said they tighted a bolt on the subframe and that fixed the front end but a gm engr told me that truck does not have a subframe only vehicles with unibodies use subframes, i have documented all services and responses if needed. *ak

This vehicle will not stop when going over bumps or rumble strips or potholes.i have spoken with several dealerships and some know of the problem but have not recieved a recall to correct this situation. this is very serious since it requires an additional 30 to 50 feet of stopping distance.i leave an extraordinary didtance between myself and the vehicle in front of me for fear that i will have to make an ordiary stop just when there road gets bumpy.

Abs motor control unit failure, after seeing many complaints on the web i am reporting it here. abs warning light came on and pump motor started running. even when turning off the motor, the unit still runs. abs failure. had to pull fuse to stop, now driving without abs and abs and brake warning lights are on. $1000 - $1500 to repair problem, will most likely drive without abs for a long time. *la

Many complaints with this vehicle may get long but i am not sure as where to send them all.#1 window regulator failed three times, the first time i had to pay the full amount to get it fixed as the company recommended by the dealer went bankrupt before the warranty was up, i was never contacted about this. #2 broke two more, times dealer picked up cost on the second time but not on the third time the window is taped up as the dealer said they won't fix it as the 1 year warranty was up. anti lock sensor was only cleaned and is still acting up truck lurches after stops. dealer said that they probably won't do anything as they already cleaned the sensors. the truck was purchased used and i did not notice the bed on the truck had been repaired. it looks like it sits a little lower now on one side the service rep said there were spot welds where there shouldn't be but wouldn't comment beyond that. *tr

After changing all four brake rotors and brake pads because they were badly rusted, my brakes failed soon after leaving home . a pin hole leak developed in the brake line because of rust. the leak was in a place that was not accessible by me. i had to have the vehicle towed to a dealer for repairs. they found four badly rusted brake lines and replaced all four at a cost of $953.16. the towing charges were covered by my allstate auto club. i forget to request the old parts. i was fortunate the failure occurred shortly after leaving home and did not cause an accident like the failure of the rusted brake line in my 1988 chevy truck caused. i rear ended a car in that incident. *jb
Brake line on both front wheel is located 1/2 inch away from wheel , driver and passenger wheels cut into the brake line, causing loss of brakes. *ak |
