2000 chevy silverado1500 v6 stalls when driving. no check engine light to indicate any issues with engine. dealer replaced catalytic converter but cannot offer any reason as to why this occurs. i have replaced the spark plugs, distributor and rotor button. this happens sporadically and can not be traced to any one source by me. i have noticed that the last couple of times it was raining. this has been on going for about 4 months. when this happens i lose the ability to use the brakes and is very hard to control.*tr
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE - FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

To much pressure needed to push accelerator pedal when starting out from idle causing vehicle to lurch suddenly whether in forward or reverse. this is especialy dangerous in a parking lot where people may be walking behind vehicle. dealer fix only lasted temporarily. this problem is now happening on a daily basis.

1. the first incident with the transmission going out was a factory defect. it had problems going into reverse and it would get stuck between 1st and 2nd gear it was replaced free of charge. 2. the second incident was a o-ring busted loose from the radiator that connected the transmission line to the radiator and spurted transmission fluid on the exhaust manifold and spark plug wires with caused the engine compartment to catch on fire. the replaced what they felt needed to be replaced.
FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER | |||
01/13/2004 | 62000 | 65 | 10/04/1999 |
The accelerator, when at idle, has a catch in it which requires an inordinate amount of foot pressure to overcome and when overcome, the vehicle lurches ahead out of control until the brake is applied.this creates a dangerous condition whereby the driver is not in complete control, particularly in close quarters such as a parking lot. because of this condition, i start out with one foot on the brake and one on the accelerator in anticipation of the problem but if another driver uses my vehicle, he is not aware of the idiocyncracy and an accident is even more probable.

2000 chevrolet silverado 1500 pickup 12/30/05 i called to make an appointment for the abs recall. 12/31 the abs light on the dash came on. the dealer completed the recall work and stated the abs light was an active failure code in the computer and was not related to the recall. repair of this fault was estimated $1,400-1900. i have also paid to have the fuel gauge fixed. it went from empty to full at random and has been reported as a common problem but has not been recalled. *jb |
