POWER TRAIN

My 2003 chevrolet c/k 1500 silverado is having a message on the instrument panel showing reduced engine power. then, the engine immediately dropped power. the speed will dramatically slow to around 15 mph. this happened 3 previous times. there have been several near misses as a result of the power reduction. the vehicle has been in the dealership on five seperate occassions due to the engine power failure - at times the eingine will not restart. the dealer stated that they replaced the throttle position sensor, throttle body, power train control module, throttle actuator, control module, also, the ignition switch was replaced and the engine was still losing power. the dealership and the customer service department was contacted and i have been unable to get any help with this problem.
POWER TRAIN - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

I have a 2003 chevrolet pickup with approx. 26,000 miles on it and the transmission clunks loudly when upshifting and downshifting and gets worse by the week. it is now slamming into gear and i am afrfaid to drive it because it might fail at speed or in traffic and i am afraid it may cause an accident. the dealer and manufacturer both say it is a normal condition and they have not had any complaints of this type but there is a bulletin out about it. i am concerned that they may be trying to cover up an apparent defect on the affected vehicles. this was my husbands truck, who passed away in april and i need it to haul various things to the farm which is a 6 hr. drive but now i am afraid to make the trips in this vehicle. it has never been abused or overloaded and i would appreciate any help you could affrod me on this matter. thank you in advance for your attentuion to this matter. julie k. hamilton. *ak
