Defect Summary	Certain honeywell fram racing brand hp4 and hp8 oil filters that were manufactured from may 25, 2006, through september 14, 2007, and sold for use as replacement equipment for vehicles list above. the affected filters are marked with a date code a61451 through a72571 sequentially. the date code and part number appear on the filter housing. fram racing hp4 and hp8 oil filters not bearing a date code in this range are not affected by this recall. the gasket of the oil filter becomes more pliable under high temperatures and pressures.
Consequence Summary	This condition may cause inadequate sealing and loss of engine oil, possibly resulting in a fire.
Corrective Summary	Honeywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. the recall began during november 2007. owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075.

	I need to find out whether this truck was recalled for having side saddle fuel tanks mounted outside the frame. the vehicle was abandoned in my yard approximately the summer of 1996. in february of 2000, i followed the required procedures to obtain title to the vehicle. i replaced the engine and enough other components to make the truck road-worthy and have been driving it for a year. i just became aware of this fuel tank problem and need to find out whether the vehicle was recalled. i don't think the previous owner took the vehicle in for any type of retrofit because it has been disabled in my yard for about 5 years. if there was a recall issued for this vehicle i would like to know how i can make use of it.*ak
