| Carbon buildup. the truck has been in the shop 3 times for what the dealer says is carbon buildup. it happens about every 2500 miles. the last time in the dealer said chevy knew it had a problem with the design of the pistons. the new pistons would be out in late 2001 or early 2002 and to keep driving it for now. i did not pay $ 35,000.00 to hear a engine knock. thanks for your help in this matter. | |||

| I just bought a used 2001 chevy silverado on 1/29/09 k2500 the abs lights keep coming on and now my transmission is slipping or something when i get up to 65 mph the truck starts vibrating and the transmission makes a loud clunk noise i only had the truck for a day then had to bring it back to have the knock sensor and the rattling noise checked they told me it was a hub that i had to pay for after they gave me a work order that was suppose to be fixed also the check engine light keeps coming on and they said that was also the knock sensor and said it was replaced but ten minutes after they fixed it the check engine light was on and the truck has been leaking oil that they said was fixed i would like help to see if i can get these problems fixed or my money back thank you *tr | |||

| 2001 chevy 2500 hd trucks ( front wheel hub assemblies) loosing up under normal driving conditions. these are sealed hub units so you must purchase brand new ones at a cost of over $500-700 per unit. i have had both sides losing up on me and now the replacement is now loose again after 30,000 miles. to test this you must jack the wheel off the ground and push/pull on the wheel it will rock back and forth as if its ready to come off the wheel assembly. i was a mechanic for 9 years so im not your average driver who would not notice items such as this. i take better care than most for my trucks and see this as a major safety factor for all other chevy trucks on the road. note: this was an experimental hub they used for only a couple of years. now they went back to the actual bearing nut that you can tighten if loose....seem strange huh? maybe they know something and tried to keep it under the table??? *nm | |||

| September,03 i had one bridgestone dueler lt285/75r16 separate,causing serious vibration. replaced tire with same type tire and remaining tires were inspected by dealer for safety and re-mounted. next week dueler exploded causing $4200 damage to left side of truck and significant hearing loss. the tire was inspected twice by bridgestone. first time they said tire indicated that tire struck something. second time was just a denial as i had asked bridgestone to mark on the tire where it had hit something. i new it had not. mr. sheehan, their insurance adjuster478 7501166, told me they should have paid the claim. i did not include the hearing loss in the claim. numerous people have informed me of the same problems with dueler tires and bridgestones denial/fraud tactics. something needs to be done by the us government to prevent deaths and injuries. *nm | |||
