 Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) 92 chevy camaro [xxx] smell of gas from fuel tank. vehicle was recalled - fuel tank inspection/replacement 92c360 date 6/01/1994. went to the chevy dealer who verified the problem and stated he called chevy and they said the recalls for this car are no longer valid. a/t shift cable recall nhtsa92v154000 10/13/1992 fuel tank filler neck joint defect recall nhtsa94v0770000 4/15/1994 fuel tank inspection/replacement 92c360 6/01/1994. *tr

 Tl*the contact owns a 1992 chevrolet camaro. the contact stated that the shift cable failed and caused the vehicle to remain stuck in park in the driveway. he could move the gear shifter, but the vehicle would still remain in park. he called the dealer and a representative stated that his vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 92v154000 (power train: automatic transmission), although the failures were identical. the vehicle is currently being repaired. the failure mileage was 77,400. updated 06/17/08. *lj the dealer replaced the transmission gear select cable. updated

 Recall 92v154000; consumer had experienced problems with shift of vehicle where it looked like it was in park, but, in reality, was not. had taken vehicle to dealer for taking care of recall repairs, but now problem returned. dealer was not willing to work on vehicle. please provide more information.*ak
