| 1 tire has a bubble and other tire's outside tread is coming apart. contacted the dealership where purchased and they advised me to call general tire. i contacted general tire at 1-800-847-3349 & they referred me to the chevrolet dealer in lampasas texas. i was to speak to jim smith but he was not available. was told by a coworker that general tires do not come apart. i disagree. what do i need to do to get them replaced? i feel they could cause a problem such as the problems with the firestone tires if the tread comes apart...( dot number: tire size: 245175r16 ) | |||

| While traveling approximately 25 mph in a 1999, chevrolet z71 truck left rear firestone tire, size: p265/75r16, dot: w273wmb189 experienced a blowout. there were 12,000 miles on tire, and it was original equipment. blowout was approximatley 1 1/2 inches in length, and was in center of the tread. *ak *jb | |||
