After towing a trailer, the rear tail light bulbs blew out, they were replaced and blew again along with a main relay fuse under the hood (never small fuse from dash fuse box). after replacing that twice we continued to have a problem, the vehicle was under warranty so we took it to the dealer, they said it was shorting out because of a bare wire and they fixed with black tape(still have not located that wire) the warranty expired shortly after and the mechanic did not do an invoice for electrical tape...since then we have continued to have numerous problems with the electrical system including the rear tail lights, brake lights, rear turn signal lights, passenger power window control, parental window lock control, hazard lights. we have also had to replace the battery 3 times in just over a year. we had an electric brake system installed at the time of purchase and have checked that wiring and the trailer wiring for bare wire shorts and found nothing. we no longer use the trailer lights so it is not an overload?? any information on possible defects would be appreciated. *jb

I have had 6 tires replaced on this vehicle due to tire separation. two caused body damage chevroet replace 2 tires under warranty for out of round at approx 1000 miles. (11/2000) i replaced the left fron apr 18000 miles with no damage. the rt front cause 1200 in damage to the rt fender in 2002 and the rt reat cause damage to the rear outer fender 1500 in damage in april 2004. general tire did send a check to repair the damage in which i am thankful. however i recieved the reimbursment check on 6/30/04 claim#4117006. i was driving home 7/1/04 and noticed a vibration again. on 7/3/04 i found yet another tire seperating see file #75617. i am very unhappy that my vehicle is being damaged from these tires let alone the inconveanced of time from work and rental car explence. i thing contenintal tire should repalce all of these tires with some thing else. as it seams to bring back memories of an other company (firestone) i am very fortunet that no injurys have ocured from these tire conserns. the date of the incident is the last tire concern to date.*ak

No incident..,however while in alaska in 2005. i was told by a state trooper that my vehicle side mirrors do not meet dot standards, they are too small to properly view the side of the vehicle. my vehicle: 2000 ck3500, crew cab, 4x4, duel rear wheels..,pulling a 29' travel trailer. the trooper is right, my mirrors don't even view beyond the rear fenders much less the trailer. my question is; how can the vehicle industry put a product on sale if it does not meet the requirements it was made to do? nobody buys a vehicle as described without using it to pull something and the vehicle should meet those requirements per the standards set by dot nationally and by states. *tr
