| Tl-the contact owns a 1994 chevrolet c/k pickup. the contact stated while driving 35mph the windshield wipers stop working in the rain. the wipers will work intermittenly on previous occasions. the dealer was contacted and informed him there were no recalls for the windshield wipers on his vehicle and he would have to pay to repair the failure. the manufacturer was contacted and informed him there were no recalls for his vehicle. the windshield wipers was not repaired. the failure mileage was 53,000....mw | |||

| My wipers work at times, however most of the time i cannot get them to work at all. i have the same year make and model that is included in recall# 03v159000. however, according to my vin, my truck is not included in this recall. the recall is due to a defect which if present will cause your wipers to do exactly what my wipers are doing. this is obviously the same issue on more vin's than originally considered. gm/chevrolet should do the right thing and replace all of these defective wiper motor components. it is too dangerous to be driving in the rain and all of a sudden your wipers stop working for them not to. *tr | |||

| October 15, 2003 wipers working intermittent. november 3, 2003 wipers not working at all. located recall information on the dot web site and contacted local dealership. was told that the last 8 digits of my vin indicated it was not included in the recall. i contacted chevrolet at the 800 number and was told the same thing. also told that due to high mileage (143k) it probably would not be covered anyway; however, i should keep a copy of the repair receipts in the event it might be covered in the future.*ak | |||

| I am the original owner of a 1994 chevrolet silverado k1500 extended cab truck. the windshield wipers only work intermittently and have for some time. i could be driving down the highway in a rain storm and all of a sudden they decide to shut off completely. this is a huge safety issue. i just recently became aware of a recall for 1994 chevy trucks ( nhtsa campaign id number : 03v159000 ). i contacted the local chevy dealership and was told that my vehicle is not included in this recall. apparently the recall does not include enough vehicles because mine is acting in a similar manner. thanks for your help. *jb | |||

| My 1994 chevrolet pickup truck with vin# 1gcdc14z2rz201835 is exhibiting behavior described in campaign# 03v159000; however it is not part of the campaign. specifically, my windshield wipers periodically stop working and will only start again with manually prodding. this occurs mostly in bad weather. when using my washer fluid i rarely notice this condition. i'm not sure why almost all other gm trucks are covered under this campaign but mine is not, it seems obvious to me that it is the same part exhibiting the same problem. *jb | |||

| I have been having intermittent wiper failure on my 1994 chevrolet c/k pickup. i was researching for the problem, and i found out that chevrolet had issued a recall notice. i contacted chevrolet and they said that there is a recall, but my vin does not qualify for the recall. when i pressured them on the safety issues and the fact that the wipers can quite at any time especially when it is raining, they said they could do nothing. my concern is that with the sudden onset of this problem could cause some severe accidents and would like to see the recall expanded to all vehicles with this windshield wiper configuration not just which vin or assembly line the product came off of. i am issuing this complaint because i can't wait for chevrolet to expand this to a realistic recall because i feel that it is just a matter of time before someone is injured and my vehicle is unusable during inclement weather. *la | |||

| On august 17,1999 my wiper motor and circuit board had to be replaced on my 1994 chevrolet k1500 pickup. i just recently learned that there had been a recall (03v159000) on this item due to defective solder joints on the controller board. after notifying gm by phone i was told that my vin number was not one of the vehicles under recall-i also went to my dealer that had replace the parts and they also stated that my vehicle was not on the recall list. i feel that any vehicle that had a wiper motor and circuit board replaced by dealer should be reimbursed for the cost of that item because if it was not defective it would still be working. | |||

| Windshield wipers sometimes work, sometimes don't. took the vehicle to jon lancaster chevrolet in madison, wi to have the windshield wiper module (circuit board) replaced and they would not authorize the free replacement. said that the vehicle had over 70,000 miles on it and thus was exempt from the recall deal. this is not right, the problem just about killed me when the wipers wouldn't work during a heavy rain fall event while driving on interstate 90/94. they know about this problem but won't pay to have it fixed.*ak | |||
