Can smell fuel vapor odor from rear of vehicle. had inspected for leak and found line cracked on top of fuel pump module. this is a fire/safety hazard and this low mileage vehicle should be covered under the safety recall 09v419000 but is not because the car is registered in a northern state. *tr

After parking vehicle i noticed a strong gasoline odor emitting from the car. took it to a mechanic who said it was the fuel pump leaking and it needed to be replaced. cost me $750.00. i see on the internet that this is a common problem with this vehicle. i live in and bought my car new in florida which is one of the states that is covered under the recall notice # 09v419000. i was never issued a notice by gm about this recall . the only way i did find out about it was that my sister owns a 2007 chevy cobalt and she received one. she also lives in and bought her car in florida. i feel that gm should have sent me a notice and also that they should pay for the repairs i had to incur on my vehicle. *tr

Smelled fuel in garage where car is kept and also inside of vehicle. took to local shop and upon putting car onto the lift, they spotted fuel dripping from top of gas tank. upon taking tank off and inspecting fuel pump, there was a very visible crack on the mra. the port was cracked and fuel was leaking from that area. i have kept the fuel pump. my local shop replaced fuel pump in december, but it was not until last week that my mechanic contacted me and stated that there was a possible recall. gm denied my recall request. stated my vin # didn't have this specific recall attached & since my car wasn't registered in az or nv i was eligible for any reimbursement. i have old fuel pump and pictures and a service ticket all upon request. please review. this is too much of a coincidence.

My cobalt has a fuel leak which is clearly a safety issue, and being ignored by general motors except in certain states and vehicles with certain vin numbers. clearly they are trying to minimize their responsibility and are being aloud to do so at the expense of their customers. since when is a fuel leak not a safety hazzard or maybe you are waiting for a fire or explosion and a loss of life before anything is done. wonder why they stopped making cobalts, maybe because they ran out of cheap defective parts. it is a real shame that those who purshased these vehicles are being treated like they are wanting something for free that they are not entitled to. i got the same old story from gm when i contacted them. they try to act concerned, but you can tell they are told what to say and aren't going to be of any help.

I pulled information on a recall #: 09v419000 on certain model year 2006 chevrolet cobalt and saturn ion and 2007 chevrolet cobalt . . . for the following states az, nv, ca, fl, tx. md should have been included because i have the same problem. developed a crack in the fuel line, feul started leaking from that area.
08/19/2011106000
I experiences first a gas odor in my vehicle that was extremely uncomfortable as i was not able to drive my vehicle. i then was able to see a visible gas leak coming from the fuel tank of my vehicle. after having a mechanic look at the vehicle, it has been concluded that the cap on the fuel tank has malfunctioned. i have investigated the vehicle and the problem and i know there is a recall for my vehicle and this issue however only in specific states. therefore, it acknowledges that there was a factory issue involving this year of chevy cobalt. i will likely be paying around $600 out of pocket for the repairs in order to keep my vehicle in driving condition.

Was driving my car and when i got home i smelled gas when i got out. so i got up underneath and smelled it even stronger. i took my car in to get an oil change and had them look for a gas leak. there is a gas leak coming from somewhere around my gas tank. this smell has gotten worse. this is dangerous to be driving around my car with such a problem. there have been other people reporting the issue as well. this is a safety issue that gm needs to recall everywhere not just certain states. i am a single mother and my son doesn't need to be smelling that every day when he's in my car. i do not have the money for repairs but this is something that i did not do. the car has a clean title and i have never hit anything hard to cause a leak from the top of the gas tank.

The plastic line in the fuel assembly is cracked. my care smells of gas and is dripping gas. there is a recall for this very problem online: october 2009 -- general motors is recalling certain model year 2006 chevrolet cobalt and saturn ion vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of arizona and nevada; and model year 2007 chevrolet cobalt, pontiac g5 and saturn ion vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of arizona, california, florida, nevada and texas. the plastic supply or return port on the modular reservoir assembly may crack. if either of these ports develops a crack, fuel will leak from the area. if the crack becomes large enough, fuel may be observed dripping onto the ground and vehicle performance may be affected. fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. dealers will replace the fuel pump module free of charge. a special coverage will be implemented in the same time frame for model year 2006 vehicles registered in alabama, arkansas, california, florida, georgia, hawaii, louisiana, mississippi, north carolina, new mexico, oklahoma, south carolina, tennessee and texas and model year 2007 vehicles registered in: alabama, arkansas, georgia, hawaii, louisiana, mississippi, north carolina, new mexico, oklahoma, south carolina and tennessee. the manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. 09v-419

I was on my way home, and noticed the smell of gasoline from the outside of my vehicle. i initially thought it was from putting a couple of gallons of gas in the vehicle earlier, but the smell persisted into the inside of the vehicle while driving. when i arrived home, the smell of gasoline was stronger outside. i looked under the vehicle and saw the path that the gasoline has been traveling. i let the vehicle sit in the driveway until i was able to bring it to the dealership, for the fear of it catching on fire, or exploding while driving with my two children. it is currently at the dealership being worked on, and was told it is the fuel pump system. it has come to my attention that i am not the only one experiencing this, and it is known issue gm has had. i don't understand why my vehicle is not a part of the recall, it is not just. i dread the bill that i am about to face, due to a known safety issue. and i am certain the fumes of gasoline is't healthy for my two children, a 6 month and a 2 year old.

I have a 2006 chevrolet cobalt ss 2.0l that just recently started to leak gas really bad about a month ago. there is already a recall for 69,139 cobalts for this issue and the nhtsa campaign id number is 09v419000. my car is currently registered in arizona and was previously registered in nevada, the summary of the recall clearly states that general motors is recalling certain model year 2006 chevrolet cobalt and saturn ion vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of arizona and nevada. my car is an 2006 model and was registered in both of those states, so i feel like there was a mistake that was made on gm's part while doing research on this recall and there are still vehicles out there like mine that have this issue. this has been a big inconvenience for me as i cannot even start my car without gasoline pouring out from the gas tank area and fear of my car igniting on fire. i just contacted general motors today and they told me that there was nothing that they could do to help so i'm hoping someone will read this here and get word out so that no one is seriously injured or killed. i appreciate your time!!

This is the 2nd complaint i have filed for my 2006 chevy cobalt. the first involved the steering problem, which was eventually recalled, but not until i spent several hundred dollars, for which i still have not been reimbursed. on july 21, 2011, which hit over 100 degrees inn central pennsylvania, i began smelling gasoline after driving the vehicle. i thought it might be related to the fact that we were under an ozone action alert, but when the problem did not resolve and became worse i contacted the dealer. like many other chevy cobalt, saturn ion, and pontiac gs owners, i was told that the odor was coming from a leaky fuel pump. despite my attempts to get the problem resolved, i was told that my vehicle was not among the limited vin numbers that qualified under a voluntary recall campaign #09v419000 nor did i live in one of the states that qualified. my dealer told me that i might have a case to file for special coverage adjustment #09275a. which did include my vin,, but my mileage was too high. as a result, i had to spend another $496.27 to take care of the problem myself, and that was with a courtesy discount from the dealer. while i fully understand the concept that even good parts will eventually wear out, it is still not unreasonable to expect that a known failure of a particular part should be taken care of. if other drivers receive the benefits of having a faulty part replaced, all drivers who experience the problem should regardless of where they live and what the vehicle's mileage is when the failure occurs. this is especially true when that problem can result in injury or death such as a fire that might occur from leaking fuel or having steering go out while driving. my dealer would have been perfectly fine with allowing me to drive off the service lot without the fix if i wasn't able to come up with the money. i have been a chevy owner for over twenty years, but this may be my last chevy purchase.

I took my 2006 cobalt to a mechanic today to investigate a strong fuel odor that has persisted for about one week. i was also experiencing ignition delays. the mechanic confirmed a crack and in the fuel delivery system of my car. the mechanic instructed me to contact local chevrolet dealers about a recall, referencing nhtsa recall bulletin 09v419000. despite this information, no dealers confirmed the recall. the only recall available according to the dealers has to do with a power steering issue. i found information online in chevrolet forums about another potential recall coded 06090 or 06090a that describes the same issue as the aforementioned nhtsa bulletin. my vin number falls in the range listed with 06090. no dealers could confirm this either. i just want to know if my vehicle is eligible for recall related repairs. it seems as if it should be, judging by all the information i have gathered. note: the mileage listed above is an estimate. the fuel odor has persisted since just before 69000 miles and still persists, as my current mileage is around 69,100.

Re: nhtsa action number: pe10005 , recently informed by our mechanice that wew have a fuel leak somewhere above the gas tank near the fuel pump. reviewed web and discovered this safety recall and fail to understand how it can be limated to the states described within the recall. i live in kansas with summer time tempatures in the 90-100 degrees routinly. i also understand the repair cost can be substancial, how can it be fair for my neighbor in oklohoma to have this repaiared by gm yet i may have to endure a 300 - 600.00 expense, after all safety is safety.

Besides prior problems with my 2006 chevy cobalt including replacing the motor and manual transmission, i recently noticed a strong fuel odor when i was driving my car or after i had parked. i noticed the smell on june 29, 2011. i called my mechanic on july 1, 2011 and he scheduled me for service on july 5, 2011 following the independence day holiday weekend. he looked at the car and noticed there was a crack in the mra or modular reservoir assembly which had caused the fuel pump to leak. he stressed the danger i had been in while driving my car due to the highly flammable nature of the fuel leaking from my car. he needs to replace the fuel pump which will cost several hundred dollars. after doing some research on the problem, i found that gm had recalled many 2006 chevy cobalts for this specific reason. i called the customer assistance line and spoke to dion at extension 12783 who told me my car was not included in the recall nor is the problem covered under any warranty or special coverage. it is not a coincidence that my car is suffering the same problem that many 2006 chevy cobalts were recalled for. chevrolet should cover the costs for the repair of the vehicle they sold me.

I have a 2006 chevy cobalt that has a gas leak resulting from a defective fule pump module. there is a special coverage adjustment (#09275a), however the dealer and gm say that my car does not qualify for this coverage. i have the bulletin in hand and it identifies the bracketed vin numbers, and my vin number falls within the bracket. i had my vehicle into the dealer who identified my gas leak resulting from the fule pump module, which needed to be replaced but they will not allow me coverage under this special coverage adjustment.

My 2006 chevy cobalt has developed the same fuel system crack/leak issues as discribed in the recall. however i do not live in any of the states listed so my dealer says its not covered. how can it be recalled in certain states and not others? seems to me a defect is a defect regardless of where the car is registered! now i have to pay for a repair or risk a fire.

My husband and i had been smelling gas coming from our car for a while. we took it in to get the brakes replaced and they told us that we had a fuel pump leak and would not work on the brakes until it was fixed. the cost to fix is well beyond our means and now we are going through a half a tank of gas every 3 days for less than 30miles of travel. there was a recall on the fuel pump for this problem in several other states, not including the one we live in. we have a very young child and one on the way and do not want anything bad to happen.
02/21/201156000
My vehicle began to smell like gas but there was no sign of a leak. a friend who is also a fleet technician, looked at the vehicle for me and found there was a small leak near where the fuel lines connect to the fuel sender at the top of the gas tank. in trying to get an estimate of the cost of repairs, i found that numerous people have the same problems with this make, model and year. there is even a recall for this vehicle 09v419000, but only if i live in arizona or nevada. it seems we are being penalized for not purchasing our vehicle in the right state. i found the numerous complaints at this site: http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2006/chevrolet/cobalt/fuel+system

Campaign 09v419000 states that certain vin numbered 2006 chevy cobalts have a fuel pump module that may crack and break and leak gas which could cause a fire. i took my car into the dealership and now gm is saying my car doesn't fall under the vin numbers. my car does fit between the breakpoints. i am having to pay for a new fuel pump which is very expensive. my car has been leaking gas and it was because of this exact cause and now gm won't fix it.

We experienced the same problem described in nhtsa campaign number 09v419000 on our 2006 cehvy cobalt (vin 1g1ak15f567886892). we smelled a strong fuel smell and took it to the dealer (sands chevrolet glendale az) for repair under the recall. we were denied service under the recall even though the plastic supply port was cracked and leaking fuel as described in the recall. we were charged $673.48 to repair the dangerous defect plus $134.24 for another fuel filter they said we needed. due to the potentially deadly defect we had no choice but to pay for the repair. if the dealer was telling the truth then it seems the scope of the recall needs to be expanded. please look into this. we don't want to see drivers of the 2006 cobalt exposed to this potentially deadly defect and fire hazard.

Upon exiting vehicle, noticed extremely strong smell of gas on 9/1/10. gas smell did not dissipate, and in fact got stronger over the period of one week. noticeable inside and outside the cabin. mileage at time of failure was approximately 72500. spoke with dealer about problem, told that it did not fall under current recall conditions and there was nothing they could do. had mechanic look at it, who confirmed that the fuel pump module needed replaced the lines attached to it had cracked and was leaking fuel on the top of the tank. extreme fire hazard. repairs were $760. fuel pump module was replaced after diagnostics and having the tank dropped. part available. exact description of problem falls under the nhtsa campaign 09v419000 recall. car is not in recall state, but issue has been indicated to be related to high heat. heat in current state (wv) has been 90+ degrees for more than 2 months. dealer did not look at recall, only at the vis which did not include my car's vin, apparently. this is an extreme safety issue, and should be expanded to include all 2006 chevy cobalts who have similar parts in their car. the state specific recall has been indicated in numerous complaints abundant on the internet to be a farse, as people are affected nationwide. gm claims that safety is their number one concern, but they do not (according to the rep i spoke with ) have an ongoing investigation into whether they should expand this recall into other states. this is appalling and needs looked into by someone who has the consumer's safety in their best interest.

I have owned my 2006 chevy cobalt since june 2006 and have had numerous problems out of this car. i have had to pay out of pocket for every repair because they seem to all happen before a recall is issued and the dealerships will not refund money on the repairs. 1) a/c leaks water in passenger side floor board. i have had it in the shop 3 times and it is still leaking. no one can figure out why the water is leaking into the car. 2) gas tank had to be replaced due to fule lines cracking. 3) power steering went out while my husband was driving on the interstate and was about 130 miles from home. 4) the car would die if the rpm's got too low, this was caused by a carbon build up on the idler. 5) there is no way to check the transmission fluid and it is starting to slip and take forever to upshit. 6) the key gets stuck in the ignition and will not come out. 7) the drivers side door gets stuck and will not open. 8) the door latch sometimes messes up and the door does not close. 9) the stereo display and buttons no longer work. i can not use the cd player for fear of losing the cd for ever since the eject button doesn't work. i can not see the clock or what station the radio is on. the car lost its value so fast that even after 4 yrs of having it i still can not trade it in due to the amt. i still owe on it. so i am stuck driving this piece of crap until it is paid for. i have already invested several thousands of dollars into this car for these problems. i believe that the car is a lemon and i should be reimbursed for the car and all of the out of pocket repairs i have had to make.

I own a 2006 chevy cobalt. in the past week my wife and i have noticed a strong odor of fuel in the passenger cabin and around the vehicle after we have stopped. i called chevy and they tell me their is no recall on my vehicle for fuel problems. however, i see the that there is a recall on the same year, make and model for fuel issues that are eerily similar to mine. the gentleman from gm said that chevy would not cover this issue. i believe that this is a chevy issue and that the nhtsa should get involved with this.

To whom it may concern, i am an owner of a 2006 chevrolet cobalt vin [xxx] . the reason i am filing a complaint is in february i had a problem with an incredibly strong gas odor filling the cabin of my car and so i went to the dealer i purchased it from and they found that the fuel pump module needed replacing. they did the repair work and charged me a total of $558.89 for the replacement of the pump. i am aware that there is a recall for 2006 cobalts for faulty fuel pump modules (recall #09226). i tried to get reimbursement for the repair work since my vin is well within the range of recalled vehicles but gm is claiming i have no right to do so. any help you could provide me with would be greatly appreciated. thank you. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I see there are issues on the fuel module on the 2006 chevy cobalts, and i took it to get replaced however when i take my car to get diagnosed it continues to say there is something with a misfire, and my fuel evaporating. i am having multiple problems with my 06 cobalts and has i have done extenous research and every problem ive found online over 1000 complaints and blogs, and sites where customers are all complaing about the same issue. i am a working college student and drive to work and school everyday. my car stopped on the freeway the other day, and almost caused an accident however the vehicle slammed on their brakes. not only the fuel line but also my car key does not come out the ignition. all these issues are ongoing and i have found over 10,0000 unsatisfied consumers all with the same issues with the cobalts. this is a big issue, and i am tired of dealing with chevrolet as this is there product and they are only trying to get the money and make you pay for all the services. these are major issues all going out at the same time.

2006 chevrolet cobalt-power steering failure. i have no power steering in this car now. the electrical unit that powers the power steering has gone out-failed. i took the car to a chevy dealership and was told it would cost at the very least $800.00 to fix. i cannot afford to have this repaired. my son uses this car daily (now with no power steering) to and from work and to school. his commute is 1 hour on the interstate one way. my son follows a website for cobalt owners and tells me that almost all of the emails on the website are regarding the failure of the electrical unit for the power steering. we have also had to replace the fuel tank and fuel injectors on this car. will there be any recall for the chevy cobalt? there should be!!!l *cn

My daughter's 06 chevy cobalt ls steering loss power and she barley got her car out of traffic, she then waited ten minutes and started the car again and was able to drive 4 more miles before it happened again. this has continued to happen so i had to get it fixed before someone got hurt, this has cost me some very expensive car repairs, some thing needs to be done about this i've beentold by the repair shop that it could happen again since the part they replaced is the same part they ordered, which is faulty, i live in fear everytime my child gets in that car to go anywhere, and she needs a car to get to college. as i said before please don't wait for a tragedy that could be prevented. thank you *tr

Strong fuel odor during operation and after turning off engine on a 2006 chevy cobalt. research shows this is a common problem with this make/model. several owners report similar problems. spoke to gm, they claim no open recalls or service bulletins exist. owners have reported the problem being cause by defective fuel pump assemblies. again gm refuses to take action. this among other defects on these cars is a perfect example of consumers being but in danger by faulty vehicles. since gm refuses to acknowledge the problems with there vehicles government intervention in the case is a must. *tr

Yesterday, dec 16,2009, my neighbor called me on the phone and said, i noticed walking by your car, a strong odor of gasoline. i checked, and there was a small puddle of gasoline under the car under the rear end.. i took the car to a local repair shop today, dec 17, 2009.. they said that there was a crack on the fuel pump and replaced it. i paid for the repair. after i got home, i checked the nhtsa web site and found that here is a recall for this problem on my car. the repair was made at the nearest repair shop, which is not a gm dealer. will chevrolet reimburse me for the repair? description of car: 2006 chevrolet cobalt date purchased 2/15/2006 purchased in st. louis county, mo i have not received a notice from chevrolet about this problem. will chevrolet reimburse me for the repair? *tr

My 2006 chevrolet cobalt has been diagnosed with a fuel pump modular failure recently and i got quoted 1100 for the repair and now my vehicle is inoperable. i noticed your campaign number 09v419000 in reference to the recall and our vehicle was bought and registered in arizona (i am military) in 2006. we contacted chevy and they now tell us that our vin does not fit the description and that they will only pay for the part and part of the labor with our total being between $400-$500 even though it is the exact same thing as the recall states. i do not have that kind of money to be paying for a part i should not have to pay for. *tr

2006 chevy cobalt, 64, 000 miles. the car leaks fuel from the fuel pump hose on top of the gas tank near the exhaust pipe location which could be a source of ignition. it happens every time you start the car. i took it to the local chevy dealer, they repaired the car for about $600.00. i was told there was no recall on this model. i found from the gm web site and the nhtsa site that in fact gm has recalled 53000 of these cars for this exact same problem. i was assigned a specialist and a case number and gm was investigating if i qualify for financial assistance. after 3 days of gm investigating, they decided my vin number doesn't match with this recall. they said the car is out of warranty, and i argues that this is a safety recall for 53000 other cobalts and similar models, not a warranty issue at all, its a safety recall. they said their decision was final, and i will receive no financial help. the gm recall number is 090226. the nhtsa campaign number id number is 09v419000. the mechanic described my cars problem exactly how the recall reads, and the recall says at no cost to the customer this part will be replaced by the dealer. gm only said no to free replacement because of a vin number that has not been input into their recall system. *tr

Fuel leak from top of gas tank on 2006 chevy cobalt. dripping gas & leaving line of gasoline when car moves. leaking where fuel line from fuel filter connects to fuel pump(sending unit) which is on top of gas tank. dripping about six inches from exhaust pipe. internet search discovered other post with similar leakage. hoses are formed/pressed on connection. to replace hoses & fix leak requires replacing the fuel pump with the hoses already attached. *tr

Gas fumes smell while in car and outside of car. gas puddling under car. had service done to car to find cause. no leak in/on gas tank, may be evac system or system that pressurized gas. possible blockage and afraid of driving car due to it ending up in flames. called gm to see if there is a recall, was told no recall on my vin# but found out on internet through autoblog that gm has plans on a recall but doesn't state when owner's will be notified or whether or not my car will be part of that recall. i have noticed a lot of people that own 2006 cobalts are having a lot of fuel problems. *tr

I have a 2006 chevy cobalt and there is a very strong gas smell from under the car i was told by a gm tech that it could be the fuel pump gasket rotting. and or the return gas line may be cracked i looked under my car and seen a gas leak stain i guess but the smell is coming from the gas tank no doubt about that. *tr

Last aug 2009 i was living my drive way and they steer wheel got stuck and i got trapped between my trees. i didn't know what happen so i just assumed it was me being a bad driver. two weeks ago i was driving in a street and the bell in the computer start ringing and gave me a message power steer then the steer while got stuck again. i didn't know what to do so i stop and called a towing truck to get my car and take it to my mechanic. my mechanic kept it for a day and said that cobalts 2006 and 2007 have this problem the computer does not communicate with the engine and that's what happen. i called general motors and they asked me how many miles i had in the car which is 64,000 and then they told me i had to take it to one of his dealer shops to make sure. i told the lady to be sure they were going to consider this because i have to pay and then they will decide if it was a safety issue. i did pay a lot of money and they say -you are not under guarantee- i got mad because they knew since the beginning how many miles i had. now if i turn left or right the steer wheel get stuck so i have to stop and turn off the car. after that i can drive ok. is always dangerous if i'm in a busy street or highway. to repair they want $1,000.00 that i don't have. the lady who helped me her name is mariana jimenez and she told the they are going to pay for a gas leak that i had in this year too. because that is a re-call. she said she will send the papers to get reimburse but she never did. the case number for the problem i have now from general motors is 71759207211. they are only recognizing the problem with the gas leaking because that was a safety issue how is not a safety issue driving and the steer wheel gets stuck? so my complain is for the gas leaking that i pay myself and didn't get reimburse and the current problem. the chevrolet shop wrote this in the invoice i paid performed diag system check-u2107/u2100/co475 stored in pscm silate to internal pscm motor failure. *tr

Smelled fuel after parking car. asked my brother-in-law to look at it. he said that there is fuel leaking from the top of the gas tank and dripping on the ground. he said to contact the dealer because there is a recall for the fuel pump leaking. the dealership said that my vehicle was not covered under the recall because we lived in maryland and it would cost approx. $1000 to fix. the recall is only for certain states. i could not afford this so i had to not drive for a couple of weeks. had my brother-in-law who is a master mechanic purchased and installed a fuel pump. after some research, there have been numerous complains about this and gm said there would be a special coverage for this, but the dealership says that there is not. is there a special coverage?

Gas mileage had significant decrease on highway trips. after driving >50 miles and parking car in garage, garage would smell horribly of gasoline. upon initial investigation, gasoline was leaking from the top-end of the fuel tank in the area of the plastic supply and return lines via the fuel pump. significant amount of leakage found on car under body. symptoms match nhtsa campaign id number: 09v419000. car was taken to tom gill chevrolet for repair work where it was diagnosed to replace fuel pump assembly due to a cracked fuel supply/return line on fuel pump modular. upon discussing with dealership, it as indicated this item was under recall but is region specific. dealership made comments that it was regional due to cost of repair. this car was manufactured with the same components as the cars recalled in new mexico, mississippi, california, etc. it is unacceptable for the consume to bear cost of replacement due to region when it is a common problem with the cobalt platform. *tr

The fuel pump was leaking fuel from the top of the pump and had to be replaced. this was a safety hazard because fuel was leaking on to the ground. this is the same issue other 2006 cobalt's were recalled for in other states, recall # 09v419000. my car was not purchased or registered in those states but it still experienced this problem. i want to be reimbursed by the manufacture for the repairs. *tr

There is currently a recall on this make, model and year in the states of arizona and nevada for fuel tank problems (nhtsa campaign id: 09v419000). i live in missouri where my car was issued and am currently experiencing the same problems to my car due to the extreme heat in the area. i think that all cars that fall within the make, model and year should be recalled in the midwest due to the extreme heat we've experienced.

*tr

I was driving home on february 05, 2010 when my steering wheel locked up and i did not have control of the vehicle. i was coming to a stop fortunately when this happened. this is the first time i have experienced this situation. a friend told me chevy cobalt have been recalled and i began my search online and have found numerous complaints regarding this issue. several months ago, my fuel pump module had a small crack in it disbursing gasoline. the mechanic who worked on it said he had never seen anything such as this before. im lucky i was not driving at a high speed or around a corner when my steering wheel locked up or my car didn't explode into flames from the gasoline disbursing throughout my car when i had to replace my fuel pump. power steering and fuel pumps should not require regular maintenance. chevy barely acknowledges the problem and say its not big deal, try your best to control your car when your power steering goes out. i've heard this becomes a regular occurrence after the first time. *tr
