I have a 2004 chevrolet colorado extended cab that continues to experience intermittent electrical problems. the airbag sensor light comes on unexpectedly, the fan blower intermittently stops working on settings 1-3, and the front turn signal bulbs go out every 5000-6000 miles. i can usually brush the components under the glove compartment to get the blower working, and the airbag sensor usual goes out after a week or so. *tr

I bought a 2004 colorado in march of that year,on dec. 31st 2004 i had to replace the two front tires at my expense. they had worn from the inside out the tires had 23,000 +miles on them. i complained to the dealer and they told me that there was not anything wrong. in march 2005 i had to bring it in for the same thing with less miles on those tires 17,000 miles and they still insist that there is nothing wrong. i soon will have to replace these tires before winter. the dealer tells me tires need to be rotated more often. i've owned other s-10 models with over 250,000 and haven't had the problems i've had with this type of problems. i did have other problems with this vehicle from door wiring, replacement of o2 sensor, front axle seal driver side replace, headlights, fog lights and tail lights all have been replaced within the first 20,000 miles. *jb

Tl* - the contact owns a 2004 chevrolet colorado. the contact was driving 35 to 4o mph while attempting to stop the vehicle and the brakes made a sound like metal grinding on metal. while coming to a stop in 2006 she had to pump the brakes. as a result ,there was no grinding ,but the dealer said the anti lock brake system was defective. the dealer said that if she purchased a warranty they would repair the brakes at no cost to the contact. once the contact realized how unsafe the vehicle was she stopped using the vehicle, andwas currently driving a rental vehicle. there were no recalls listed on nhtsa website related to this incident. the contact attempted to call the manufacturer, and was unsuccessful with her current request to gain financial assistance in the repair of the vehicle. the contact stated she received recall number 06v139000 onh april 26, 2006 concerning exterior lighting:brake lights:switch. *ak

Brake lights & cruise control quit working as described in nhtsa recall 06v139000 and gm recall 06030. dealer did not repair under recall because the vin # did not match recall database. i think gm needs to expand recall to all who experience this problem. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 45 mph, the break lights failed to illuminate. upon further inspection by the contact, the interior lights failed to illuminate and the cruise control failed to engage. the service dealer and manufacturer were notified, and the contact was informed by the manufacturer the vehicle was not included in recall #06v139000 due to the vin.

Soon after new vehicle purchase in 1/04, cruise control periodically became inoperative. i do know if the brake lights were also inoperative. dealer could not duplicate the malfunction and did not diagnose a problem. this problem occurred approximately 5 times over the next 2.5 years. recently, the cruise control became inoperative again, as well as the rear brake lights. i took the vehicle to the dealer and informed them that a recall had been issued, though i had not received a recall notice from gm. i presented the dealer with a printout of the nhtsa recall information. dealer stated that there was no recall for my vehicle, and since my warranty had expired, i would have to pay for repairs. repair consisted of replacement of the brake light switch. the total cost of the repair was $175.04. i'm not sure if this has any connection, but the vehicle was inspected just prior to expiration of the warranty. one week later, and after expiration of the warranty, the battery died and required replacement. *jb

A friend who happened to be driving behind me made me aware of the fact that i had absolutely no brake lights. i have no idea as to the length of time that i have been driving around in this unsafe condition. i have had other vehicles tailgate me on several occasions, now i know why. although i am entering dec 16 05 as the incident date, this is the date it was first brought to my attention. i have no idea as to how long it was like this. i took it to the dealer on 12-19-05 and i left it there until they replaced my brake light switch on 12-20-05 (because they had to get one from another dealer). they said they have not received any information on this problem as to a recall, etc. this is a serious safety issue!!! i have read that others have this problem repeat and i pray that i don't get rear-ended or end up dead because of a faulty switch. i now will not let my wife drive it until a permanent fix is released, which i hope is very soon. thanks for your consideration. *nm
