| I was in my vehicle was sitting at a complete stop, ignition on, engine running, transmission in park. i then heard an audible scratching plastic noise coming from the left lower rear extended cab door. i looked back to see what it was (saw nothing) and noticed when i turned back around my seat belt would not retract. i was then able to un-ravel all of the seat belt webbing feeling no retractor tension until it was fully extended. the seat belt will not retract back into the door / retractor to this day. i am the original owner of the vehicle (purchased new in late 2007) it has never been in an accident (major or minor), it is well cared for and not abused. i am forced to purchase a new seat belt / retractor for the vehicle. safety restraints should last longer than 4~5 years especially not being shock loaded (in an accident). what if i was braking hard or coming into a collision, i would not be here to write this. i am an automotive engineer with over 10 years in the industry; most of which has been testing (some fmvss). it is of my opinion that this retractor / seatbelt has a serious manufacturing defect or design flaw and should be investigated. *tr | |||

| The driver's seat belt and middle front seat belt no longer latch. hvae had to latch into the front passenger seat belt receptacle since friday 11/11/11. no damage or dirt are visble. | |||
