When the vehicle is start the abs fault message is given and the abs light illuminates. on other occasionns, as the vehicle is driven after being started a clicking/grinding noise emits from the front drivers side area then the abs fault message is given and the abs light illuminates. the abs then will not function or will function each time the brakes are used even in a situation where they should not be locking up. the fault has began between the time the vehicle is started and 25mph.

The brakes began squealing at mainly low speeds so i took it to midas. they claimed chevy has some sort of defect because the rotors were pitted and damaged and it should not be with a vehicle with less than 35,000 miles. this vehicle is not used hard hence the mileage and it is 5 years old. they claimed that when they called the chevy dealer, chevy claimed that both rotors and hubs needed replaced on the model because this is a known issue with this model of truck. i had them replace everything which cost me around $1,300 dollars and now the abs default light will not go out. i have never owned a vehicle that needed this much work to the braking system and that cost this much to repair with less than 35,000 miles on it. this needs to be reviewed and if this is a defect that chevy is aware of, they need to both fix the problem and compensate individuals who have made this very expensive repair because this is wrong. i would appreciate if someone could look into this problem because i am not getting any satisfaction on this from anyone else. thank you

Abs light comes on and doesnt shut off. there is a rubbing/pulsating noise when i push the brakes and i can hear something activating in the engine compartment (maybe the abs computer?). i checked the brake fluid and its good. nothing was damaged when the brakes were changed earlier. when i turn it on after having it off for a little while, there are no fault indications. when i start moving forward i can here some sort of motor or pump or something initiating. after a little bit i start pushing the brakes at the stop sign then all of a sudden the abs fault light, emergency brake light comes on as well as the abs fault and brakes message flashing across the display. i am not taking it to the dealership as they are worthless.

Abs warning light goes on and abs engages even at low speeds, very strange and possible dangerous situation. took vehicle to mechanic and he advised the design was terrible and could not replace the sensor but rather had to replace the both front hubs that included a new sensor@$1300. gm should think about a redesign and/or recall to fix this problem. this is a potential safety issue.

I was driving on the highway and tried to use the cruise control and it didn't work. my brake lights were also not working. i didn't know my brake lights were not working until i had to slow down for a car in front of me and a car behind me almost hit me. it wasn't until i got off the expressway and a man told me my brake lights were not working. i checked the fuses and they are all in working order. i called my local dealership and the told me that my 2007 chevy colorado was not part of the recall even though there was a recall for this sort of problem. he said my vin number was not one of those recalled. *tr

First thing in the morning when i pull out of my drive way and stop at the light when i hit my brakes they make a high pitch noise and grab so hard that my truck loses control and i hit the dashboard. this has happened since i've had the truck. i bought it brand new. they told me the brakes needed adjusting so they did it but it has done it ever since. i've talked to other people and they all say the same thing. what can i do? is there a recall or have you heard about this problem from other people. i've got 41,000 miles and it has done it from about first month, but i've just lived with it but the other day i almost had a wreck. *tr

I am the owner of a 2007 chevrolet colorado truck. several times when applying the brake, my foot has also pressed down on the accelerator. (pressing brake and gas peddle at the same time). they are located too close to each other and present a serious safety potential. i have experienced this problem many times since i owned this vehicle, but just recently, have hit a parked car in front of me when i thought i was applying the brake. would like you to look into this matter and i feel gm is responsible for a poorly designed product that needs immediate correction and has responsibility for the damage to my truck. i have heard other owners of this truck have experienced this same problem. *tr

2007 chevrolet colorado with brake problems. consumer states that the brakes lock or grab. he states that when they lock or grab he gets thrown forward toward the steering wheel and he feels this is unsafe. *kb the consumer stated there was also a screeching sound. he believed the sound was an indication of friction between the front brake pads, discs , rear brake shoes and drums. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet colorado. the contact stated that his vehicle was experiencing ongoing failures with the vehicle. there was a hard vibration in the engine and brake failure. as a result, the vehicle was placed in the repair shop for 18 days. there was also uneven tread on both front tires. at that time, the vehicle was aligned and the tires were rotated. the vehicle has been repaired at least seven times; however, the failures persist. the contact feels that the failures are safety hazards that could cause a crash. the current and failure mileages were 23,700.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet colorado. the vehicle makes a grinding noise in the ignition/starter when attempting to be started. when the engine is on, the vehicle continuously attempts to restart itself. the contact stated that the starter and the bender spring have failed. while driving 30 mph, the contact heard a squeaking noise when the brakes were engaged. the failures began on december 23, 2006. the dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of failure on several occasions and insisted that the vehicle was operating normally. after cleaning the vehicle, the grill and the driver side headlight began to detach from the vehicle. the grill and headlight have been repaired. the contact was unable to close the driver side door, but the dealer made the repair. the contact has an appointment with the dealer on may 8, 2007 in another attempt to diagnose the cause of failure. the current mileage is 6,000 and failure mileage was 1,329.
