Coolant smell in cabin. many other cruze owners noticing same thing. gm has yet to correct the issue. only happens once car is at operating tempurature. dealerships won't fix it or don't know how and chevy refuses to even diagnose my car as it's outside of the 36,000 bumper to bumper coverage.

The heater blows air at 215 degrees causing the heater vents to become very hot, and untouchable. the owner is unable to use the heater fully because it is like being in a sauna. gm knows about the problem, but has no resolution because the issue is a design issue. the owner is proceeding with the lemon law.

Cruze has a coolant smell both inside and outside of the car. apparently this is an extremely common issue with the cruze vehicles. gm has yet to fix the issue with these vehicles.

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that there was a sour odor being emitted inside the vehicle. the contact inspected the vehicle and found that there was antifreeze, water and mold under the all-weather floor mats. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was determined that a plug had not been removed in the line, causing the leak inside the vehicle. the dealer replaced the carpet and the firewall insulator pad however, the mold remained. in addition, the contact stated that due to the prolonged leak and the extensive mold that accumulated in the vehicle, it was a possibility that the contact had developed legionnaires disease. it was later determined that the contact had inhaled large amounts of ethylene glycol and suffered major respiratory illness. the manufacturer was contacted and offered to purchase the vehicle back from the contact at the original price. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 23,500. kmj

After having the underbelly shield modified on my sister's 2012 chevrolet cruze eco per the recall (nhtsa campaign number 12v288000) i noticed an increase in buffeting and highway speed wandering in the handling of her car.this is most noticeable at speeds of approx 75 mph and higher. the car felt less stable than it did prior to the recall service being performed on the vehicle. because of this, i purchased a replacement underbody shield from a dealer and re-installed it. the result of this re-installation was noise back to normal, handling back to normal.

Car responds erratically and unpredictably to push on accelerator pedal. on above date in attempting to back up slowly accelerator pedal was pushed with delayed response, then followed by extreme motion backward hitting fence, damaging fender. at other times car fails to accelerate out of way of on-coming traffic causing near collisions with little or no response to pedal movement. this has happened several times with this six month old car. my friend has same model with same problem. as per chevy service manager who was twice contacted on this: a) he took a new cruze home to drive for several days to investigate this complaint from other customers and he had the same problem, b) same problems are being reported to other chevy dealers in hot climate areas of country. chevy service manager says problem is know to general motors, but no fix is available - all tests on several other new cruze models brought in for service with same problem show that all systems and electronics are working normally. he's not sure what general motors will do about it. this is apparently a make/model specific problem that is not being addressed as no pro-active warning info has been received by us from general motors or the chevy dealer. this is dangerous and no one is taking any responsibility. please investigate before someone is seriously injured or killed. the lack of official warning from general motors is morally outrageous!!

Vehicle make / model: model year(s): chevrolet / cruze 2011-2012 manufacturer: general motors llcmfr's report date: jun 21, 2012 nhtsa campaign id number: 12v288000nhtsa action number: pe12010 component: engine and engine cooling potential number of units affected: 413,148 i am very disappointed in the fix for this issue. they have completely removed the whole center section of this shield so now my engine is exposed to road spray. this was a selling point on this vehicle and i feel we have been cheated out of this feature. they should have offered to replace it with a non combustible unit.

This vehicle was purchased december 2010 and since the purchase all the issues that 2012 chevy cruz has been subjected to regarding recalls we have suffered them. this complaint is filed due to the fact that, although the car is under warranty, gm and the dealership refuses to honor the warranty, for the repair of the fly wheel bolts. these bolts are internal and are currently loose and while driving the vehicle, the vehicle does not accelerate and then suddenly stops.

The fllor mats do not stay in place and slide up under the pedals. there are retaining pins, but these do not work due to poor design.
