| I was driving to the store when the glove box popped open and the contents came out. the striker bracket that holds the glove box shut broke off at the point where its attached to bolts. | |||

| My car a/c blows hot air unless i am travelling long distances down the road, heat sometimes does not work in the winter and i have to pull off the road, turn the vehicle off and then back on to get heater to work. also while cranking the car it doesn't want to turn over at times unless i stomp on the gas pedal. this happens around twice a week. freon is ok in my car and nobody can find the problem for a/c or the reason it sometimes won't turn over without giving it gas first. its highly unsafe to have an air temp door not work properly as it won't defrost during the winter and won't blow cold during the summer. | |||

| My 2005 equinox is leaking water into the interior of the vehicle. i get a lot of water collected in the spare tire area and a lot of water in the rear floorboards. since my driveway is on an incline it is difficult to tell where the leak is coming in at. i also have noticed the water drips out of the overhead lights when i brake. i have been to two different mechanics and they both have ruled out a sunroof drainage issue since the area is clear. i have seen quite a few complaints about the same problem i am having, and i am not sure what steps to take at this point since it is clearly a problem with the vehicle and not wear and tear. with numerous complaints why hasn't there been a recall since the issue is not an uncommon occurrence? | |||

| All problems arose when the brake from the driver's side would shake when braking. we had the shoes and tha pads changed and the problem seemed to be solved for about a year. then the problem began again but this time the brakes would squeak when braking and then they began to tighten and the brake would lock itself and began to smoke because of the friction the pad and the brake disc were creating since the brake would remain locked. this was only on the drivers side. when this occurred the friction made the whole wheel rim get hot and began producing a burning smell from the brake pad. the caliber, shoes, pad and disc had to be replaced for both front brakes. the brakes continue to squeak when breaking. now, the motor heats up to the red zone, the check engine light comes on even if their is anti-freeze in the engine. when accelerating the motor cools down, but if the speed is less than 35mph the motor heats up more. based on other comments from drivers with the same make, model and year they noticed that the problem has come up to be the head gaskets. this problem has created many problems with the engine and is becoming a safety hazard when their is still a posibility that the breaks will lock up again and possibly spark fire if the problem is not fixed. we have not used our vehicle because of these issues we fear that not fixing the costly problem may damage other parts of the vehicle. we know we are not alone and that other drivers have the same problem with the chevy equinox 2005 | |||

| The carrier bearing is faulty on 2005 equinoxes. our mechanic told us this is a huge problem because it could cause the car to flip over. the major issue is that to repair the carrier bearing, they have to remove and replace the drive shaft. this has to be sent to chevrolet, and since it can only be done by them, they have a strong arm on the price. ($1200) it is evident that this is a manufacturing defect because when i began to google 'drive shaft chevy', it gave me 2005 equinox as a suggestion. the year was specific in the problem. | |||

| I recieved my vehicle back on 8.2.11 it had been in the repair shop since 5.14.11. the repair man replaced and reprogrammed the transmission modulator. he noted that it did act up for him, however it had not acted up since his last attempt at fixing it. it was raining when i picked up my car. in the first 10 miles i noticed the steering pulled to the left a couple of times. after i hit dry road this did not occur. after about 30-60 miles of driving the vehcile since getting it back, the speedometer started failing and the vehicle while going 55mph starts to feel like it is going to cease to operate and stutters. it is also noted that it feels like it is not going to automatically shift to the appropriate gear. the vehicle is going to chevorlet dealership on friday 8.5.11. | |||

| Speedometer failed to give an accurate reading. radio faded in and out. after around a minute of this occurring the vehicle lost power and slowed down and did not regain power even with the gas pedal pressed. the vehicle was safely brought to the side of the road, turned off and attempted to drive the vehicle again. after about 1 mile or less the vehicle again did the same thing and was towed to a mechanic. | |||

| I bought this truck sept 2010. its a used chevey equinox 2005 from a big mazda dealership here in edinburg,, texas. i didnt buy it with warranty. after a week of driving it, i had to change the brake pads already. they sensors started messing up within 3 days. but the dealership said they couldnt do anything about it cus i had no warranty. i changed the oil with synthetic oil after a month after hoping it would get better. but it kept on happening all the time until now. anti-lock brakes and traction control light sensors. they turn on all the time. and the barring vibrates and you can feel it when going slow. i just got it fixed the other day at a famous car repair shop and they told me there's a 50/50 chance that changing the barring will work. but it has happened to other chevy equinox 2005/2006 models that they've fixed before with the same problem. i took my chances anyway and i bought a new barring and changed all my 4 tires. after a day the light sensors turned on again and the barring started vibrating again. i called them up they said to go to a dealership. i dont want to take it to a dealership cus my warranty expired already and i know they're goin to charge more. i'm not sure if there is a recall on the brakes and sensors on this model thats why im filing a complaint. | |||

| 2005 chevy equinox, purchased new from dealer in summer 2005. front brake rotors have been vibrating excessively since about 15k miles. rotors have been replaced (which is way too early). ignition cylinder (where the key goes in and turns...) had to be replaced in the first 5k miles (took a week - dealer was unable to repair and had to get parts from somewhere else). front tires show excessive wear on outer edge, even after maintenance. two tires replaced ~30k miles due to tread being worn. experienced a blowout on the interstate (at highway speed) of another tire at around 40k miles. then replaced two other tires. | |||

| The driver side window does not work properly and it chooses when to go up and down and also i would have to open the door in order to work the window. also the stalls on numerous occasion to start. the brakes are brand new and a problems still occurs when trying to stop it shakes even when going a low speed. *tr | |||
