| Defective middle seat belt on 2006 chevy equinox. i folded down the seat to put something large in the back. when i tried to put the seat back up, the seat belt will not retract. i tried everything i could to loosen the seat belt but to no avail it won't budge. i took it to the chevy dealer that i bought the car from and he said all he could do is cut the seat belt and order me a new seat belt retractor. he said he would call me with an esitmate to replace. 3 days pass and no calls from dealer so i called him and he finally looked it up. he said it would cost me 375.00 to repair this seat belt. my car has never been in an accident and i see no reason for this seat belt to malfunction. the cost to replace seems very excessive and i can't seem to get any answers from the dealer other than it happens. oh, and of course my car is about 1000 mi's out of the 60 thousand/ 5 year year warranty. | |||

| My seatbelt broke. i drove across town and everything was fine. when i went to unhook my seatbelt and get out the belt recoil didn't pull the belt back in, rather it was just sluggish and jerky. there was no accident, the seat belt just jammed up and stopped working. i called chevrolet to check for any recalls of this nature. they said there wasn't and then advised me to have a gm service center look at it. the gm mechanic (lupient bloomington) estimated the repair at about $475. after calling chevrolet to ask for more information about why a seat belt couldn't last 4 years (2006 chevy equinox), they simply replied that my vehicle was past warranty. finally, lupient tells me that a newly installed seat belt would be warranted for only 1 year. *tr | |||

| I had to pay $700 to have a door in my heater replaced because my warranty had ran out this problem is happening a lot and now they are placing metal doors in the heater instead of plastic so why hasn't this been recalled? i think i should be refunded my money since they figured out it is a malfunction of theirs. my seat belt also got stuck where my child's car seat sits so i had to get a new one put in. my interior lights also have a short in them. *tw | |||

| Bought new 2006 equinox with three original miles. 1) right rear seat belt locked up, ratchet tighter and would not release until removed and fully retracted. six occurrences, three times to dealer who could not duplicate. 2) left rear seat belt locked up, ratchet tighter and would not release until removed and fully retracted. four occurrences, three times to dealer who could not duplicate. 3) engine falters when in reverse. three occurrences, dealer has not looked at this issue. 4) instrument cluster / gauges not working. three occurrences, two times to dealer who could not duplicate. 5) engine will not start. six occurrences, one time to dealer who could not duplicate. 6) engine will hesitate to start / extended crank. five occurrences, one time to dealer who reprogrammed pcm but issue still exists. 7) ignition switch grinding or will not turn. daily occurrences, one time to dealer, issue still exists. 8) no onstar data communication. one occurrence, one time to dealer who could not duplicate. 9) onstar unable to detect service light in instrument cluster. issue not brought to dealer at this time. 10) engine coolant extremely low within 5000 original miles. issue not brought to dealer at this time. 11) engine coolant brown and foaming. issue not brought to dealer at this time. 12) alarm system deactivated itself, interior and exterior lights on, doors were still locked. issue not brought to dealer at this time. *nm | |||
