| The chevy equinox has a history of water leaking into the spare tire wheelwell. my 2007 equinox is no exception. it was repaired in 2009 under warrenty. the repair lasted for a while then the wheelwell started filling up with water again. last summer i was using a wet and dry vac to take the water out, only to have it fill up later on. gm put out a maintenance bulletin in 2009 for this problem. their instructions did not fix the problem. there is no recall for this, why i don not know. the water creates a terrible smell, fogs up the windows on the inside, creates ice on the inside of the windows during the winter, can create mold throughout the carpeting and seats and is just a complete pain in the ass to keep dealing with this. why has there been no recall on this issue? many, many, many complaints are out there on this problem with no coverage from gm. this is not an owner cause. it is a manufacturing cause. owners of the equinox need a recall inorder to take care of this without payments from the customer. check it out and see how big this problem is. this is a problem with various gm vehicles and years. | |||

| Fuel pump leaking, strong smell of gas, took vehicle to dealership, fuel pump replaced. after the fact a recall was made from gm about fuel pumps on my exact vehicle. i didn't qualify due to recall is vin specific. there may be more vehicles out there like mine that fit within recall guidelines with the exception of the vin not included on their recall list. gm may need to expand their recall to include more vin's. | |||

| The car leaks with water when rain due to improper sealing around roof of car on driver and passenger side door of the vehicle. vehicle floods with water when raining or going through car wash. water runs down through molden of doors onto floor underneath brake pedal and gas pedal. | |||

| When you turn off car and go to remove the keys they are stuck in the ignition. you have to start the car again and usually move it before you can remove the keys and even then it usually takes several attempts. this happens about one out of every four times i drive the car. | |||

| The fuel pump and fuel line for the 2007 chevy equinox is hazardous. the gasoline delivery system is faulty. my vehicle has less than 67,000 and is leaking gas near the tank. in researching 2007 chevy equinox online complaints, i have found this to be very common for this vehicle year and make;however,gm has not recalled this. my vehicle smells like gas from far distance.as i had to drive it back to my house it gave me a headache, made me sick to my stomach and dizzy, which is a huge hazard while driving your vehicle. there is a pan underneath the vehicle which holds on to all of the gas that has leaked out of the gas delievery system. if parked on a tilt the gas leaks out of the pan. i am pregnant and have two little boys that were in the vehicle with me when the gas smell took over the car. i called chevrolet customer service and their is nothing they can do. with so many complaints out there for this same make and model something should be done for the safety of gm's consumers. i understand that gm recalled some chevy volts, and saturn ion's for the same issue. gm should consider all makes with the same hazardous issue. http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2007/chevrolet/equinox/fuel+system | |||

| When i park my car i cannot get the key out of the ignition. i have to push the brake all the way to the floor and move the gear shift several times back and fourth before i can get the key out. it happens almost every day, every time i park the car. it is getting worse day by day and i am afraid that one day i will not be able to get the key out at all. i am unemployed at the present and cannot afford to have anyone look at it. i feel that it is a defect from the factory, because there have been so many reports for the same thing. i think something should be done concerning this problem as soon as possible. | |||

| Key will not come out of ignition when car is placed in park. the key is stuck in accessory position. car needs to be turned back on and gear selector moved (as well as vehicle, steering etc.) many times before key will disengage from steering column. | |||

| We have a 2007 equinox that the power steering quit working. prior to the power steering going out, the service stabilitrak light would come on at random times for no apparent reason. i contacted a dealership and they told me it was possible that there could be corrosion on the connectors for the sensors for the stabilitrak. when the power steering quit working, i did some research and found that others were having similar issues, so i contacted gm who wanted me to have the vehicle diagnosed to see if there was anything they could do. the diagnosis was the power steering control module. after a week and a half of talking to gm they said, due to the age and milage on the vehicle there was nothing they could do. due to the number of customer complaints, we then asked them have they done anything to fix the problem with the control module. they couldn't give us an answer. we aren't going to continue to pay for control modules because they can't fix the issue. thank god my 7 month old child was not in the vehicle with me at the time of the failure. | |||

| I was coming upon a stop sign, it was snowing outside so i was driving quite cautiously. as i came to the stop sign i slid a bit and then the suv lost all traction and the brake light, abs light, service stability control, and service traction control lights all came on. i then pulled over to the side of the road restarted the suv and all lights came back on and i had no antilock brakes, stability control, or traction the rest of the way home. it was terrible. i have never felt like i had no control of a vehicle like that before. i parked it in the garage at home and the next day started it again. all lights went off and it was fine until snowfall today. the same thing happened when my husband was driving it. we have tried starting it again but the lights have not yet went out. i will be bringing this to the dealership first thing monday morning with hopes it doesnt cost me too much to get it fix. i fear for others that will have this same problem. i have always bought chevrolets but this has definately made me think twice about buying yet another vehicle from them. i would definately consider this an incident that should have been recalled. i have researched it online and many people have had this same problem. | |||

| My 07 chevy equinox is leaking from the gas tank on the rear passenger side of the car. a very strong odor is coming into the car i called the local chevrolet dealer and they told me that this was a on going problem with this year equinox but it hasn't been re called . my car is out of warranty so i have to pay out of pocket for this. my car has 83k miles on it. the tank to replace is $674 plus labor but i found the tank cheaper but still paying 600 to have it fixed. i looked up this problem and there's a ton of cars with the same problem this is so dangerous to have. i'm so glad that we noticed this problem today because we are going on vacation in two days and i don't know what would have happen driving this car 800 miles. there has to be something chevy can do for everybody that owns this car . i'm going to contact the media of this problem if it's not recalled | |||

| Hello, i noticed a horrible mildew smell about a couple of weeks ago when i had changed the cabin air filter. never had an issue until then, i took out the cabin filter thinking that i had not properly sealed the housing only to find that it was secured properly an it smells fine. this is very frustrating since i am very knowledgable about cars. i have read tons of posts about water leaking into the spare tire well and i looked there but found no water and the smell is not coming from that location. does anyone have any other recommendations or other know how to what i can do to rid the car. i just sprayed fabreeze on the carpet. | |||

| I have had several issues with my vehicle. the service stabilitrak light will come on and it will also say service tracrion control. within seconds the check engine will come and the the car says engine power reduced. i have to pull over let the car sit for a few minutes and then the stabiltrak will reset itself butthe check engine light still stays on for awhile. i was driving on the freeway and this happened and it is a safety issue. i have taken it to a gm dealer and they cant seem to find the problem. they recommended trying to fix something and it could possibly work but no gaurantees because they couldnt find any errors at the time. now the vehicle is out of warranty and they wont help with the issue. it is documented and has been in the shop for this while under warranty.i feel they need to help in this matter. | |||

| My equinox is full of water where the spare tire is and it the water has leaked all into the rugs. i did not know how this was happening until the past rain storm. when we looked at the spare tire compartment it was full of water. my car smells like mildew and my daughter has had a horrible cough for the past few weeks. i fear she has mold in her lungs. when i go online there are multiple complaints on this same issue. it seems there is a faulty seal and it leaks all through the car. it took years to get the recall for the electrical issues in my care that broke down at least 5 times from faulty spark plugs. now chevy wants me to $370 for them just to look at the car. please look into as i cannot afford the cost of this and my car makes squishing noises and smells so horribly that i probably cant even sell it. | |||

| I've had just exact same problem as the following other complaint explains... ni bought a 2007 chevy equinox new. a couple of days after taking it home a strange problem started occurring, an electrical problem between the left speakers and the directionals. a loud rapid noise would suddenly come through the left speakers as i was driving and would continue until i used the turn signal (either direction). the dealership has never been able to locate the problem and i have the same problem still. | |||

| Rear tire well filled with water that was stinky and moldy. all leaked into the cab of the equinox, thus making the carpet stinky and moldy too. there is obviously a leak somewhere in the hatch making the tire well fill up all the time. a co-worker of mine has the same car, make, model and year and has the same problem. | |||

| The throttle position sensor fails and causes the car to turn the stabilitrak and traction control off, and reducing the engine power. this is very dangerous while driving down the highway. the car will not go over 40 and the engine repeatedly revs up and down on its own. | |||

| The awd on my 2007 equinox has been exceptionally loud ever since i bought the car. i just figured it was supposed to be like that and didn't worry about it since it came on whenever we had a heavy rain. this past winter, i go stuck in a snowstorm and my awd never came on, which led to me losing control of my vehicle. luckliy, i didn't crash but hated the entire experience since i had my two small children with me. anyway, over the weekend (9/10/2010), my stabilitrak service light came on. since i was also having problems getting the key out of the ignition, i took it to a dealership who told me the main computer (bcm) needs to be replaced. this computer is the reason why my awd doesn't operate properly and the reason why my key cannot be pulled out of the ignition. | |||

| My front door handles have both fallin off my car. they just came off after opening the door. the plastic is very thin where they are connected and snap off. i replaced my passenger side about five months ago and now i need to replace my driver side. its real hard to get in and out of the car with no door handle. | |||
