The equinox was being towed (all wheels down) behind a motorhome. chevrolet certifies it as towable in this manner. the towing baseplate, produced by demco specifically for this vehicle) was attached to the car's front rail ends of the frame. while underway, the front rail ends tore loose from the frame. the baseplate, thus detached, tore the front grill and bumper from the vehicle. the car glided to a stop on the road. had we been on a busy highway or on a hill, other vehicles may have been involved and serious injury or death may have occurred. we feel that the front rail ends are not sufficiently sturdy to support towing and chevrolet should not certify the equinox as towable.

Have owned my car now for 6 months and nothing but issues. it sees the dealer more then i can enjoy it. if one more update is done and i am told the problem is fix and really it isn't then my frustration will continue. from the oil leak, transmission decline rough, engine noise, key gets stuck in ignition, fuel gage and starting issues i wish i could get rid of this car and never buy chevy again. if i had not sold my other car i would put this up for sale and walk away. there has to be something to fix these issues as this was not a cheap car. it only has 52 thous miles and i will go back to mazda where my suv went to 285 thous with normal maintenance not major issues or my tahoe that i sold at 189 thous and no problems. i wish i had purchased another mazda at this point. how do we get this problems resolved once and for all? this is crazy!i am not sure if a lawyer is the answer but i would hope that its not. i am sick of getting renals, being late to work to drop it off and shuttle. i bought this to have a car to drive not to take to the dealer over and over. the engine seal was already replaced and the problems are worse or not better at all. seems to be known problems with 2010 so why is it that they are not getting fixed on our cars. i am happy to get my 27 thousand back and get a car that is not a clunker junk. thank you -- aubrey peterson

Brought vehicle into first dealer for loud engine noise at low speed (1 to 10 mph)06/17/2011. dealer said it was the fuel injectors and said they will install an insulator to quiet the noise. installed insulator problem not resolved 7/1/2011. brought it to another dealer for the same noise. dealer found noise from timing chain7/26/2012. they replaced timing chain and tensioner8/31/2011. problem seemed to be resolved. 8 months later the noise is back. gas mileage and power has decreased. dealer suggested running a solution through the engine to clear out carbon from low octane gas. dealer applied solution and told me to run two tanks of super unleded to resolve the problem 4/6/2012. noise is still there after 2 tanks of super unleaded 4/13/2012. going back to the dealer in a week 4/20/2012. contacted gm in detroit to express my anger.4/13/2012..

Traction control light came on while i was driving on 10/27/10 26 days after i purchased this new vehicle.then the service traction control message came on followed by the check engine light.while trying to get out of traffic and park,as i shifted from reverse to drive, the vehicle kept rolling backwards.the gear shift illumination was no longer hi-lighting what gear i was in. i had the vehicle towed to the dealership's service dept and they claim that they not only cannot duplicate the problem but that they cannot find any problem at all and expect me to pick up this vehicle and make payments for the next six years on it.when this incident occurred,my first monthly payment wasn't even due yet. my 14 year old son was in the vehicle with me and we could have been in an accident. gm and the dealership (bryner cheverolet) refuse to give me a replacement vehicle or return my down-payment.they actually, expect me to put my life at risk to prove to them that this incident really occurred.under the lemon law,i am required to give them 3 chances to fix the problem.how can i do this if they cannot find the problem to fix.also am i supposed to put myself and others in danger to prove that there is a problem?

The problem is with the steering. after the vehicle has been driven for more than and 1/2 hour, it becomes sticky on each side of the center. i have had no serious problems as of yet, but the longer it is driven, the worse it gets. when this occurs, the natural response is to correct and sometimes this canbe quite scary or nerve racking. i have taken the vehicle to the dealership twice and they claimed there was nothing wrong.
