Gm is conducting a recall on all subject vehicles build between may 1999 and october 14, 1999.significant changes were incorporated into production in early october 1999, and vehicles built after that date have lower warranty failure rates.the complaint and warranty data appear to support the effectiveness of these changes. gm made additional changes in november 1999, february 2000, may 2001, and february 2004.odi will continue to monitor this problem and will take further action, if warranted, in the future.for further technical details see the attached engineering analysis report. |

Dt: consumer was driving at 50 mph and the brakes started vibrating. the problem first started around 6-4-05, and has gradually gotten worse. the consumer took vehicle it to the dealership twice. there was nothing done to fix the vehicle because it was not covered under the warranty. the consumer contacted the manufacturer, they had him to make a second appointment with the dealership. when the consumer took it to dealer, they took the tires off, and inspected the brake pads and rotors. they told consumer that the metal had delaminated off the rotors. the brake pads were okay. they reported it to the manufacturer, who said it was not covered under warranty. the consumer felt it was a manufacturing defect. consumer knew someone else with the same problem but, with a truck. there was a recall on the truck. there were no other known problems with the vehicle at this time. *ak | |||
