ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL
02/27/2009310001
The traction control system has begun to actuate intermittently under normal driving conditions. the improper engagement of the traction control system is usually accompanied by an alarm and flashing abs warning light which may or may not reset. the vehicle was purchased new in december of 2006. the system functioned correctly for the first two years of service and then failed in february of 2009 without warning. the system will actuate either while driving in a straight line or making turns on dry pavement. the severity of the event varies. sometimes the system is briefly engaged without significant disruption to the vehicle dynamics. at other times, the braking is applied aggressively and the throttle is fully attenuated. this can result in various dangerous behaviors such as violent lurching of the vehicle pulling away from a stop light, loss of power merging onto the freeway, significant slowing of the vehicle below legal speeds while driving down a surface road or freeway and completely stopping in intersections when either turning or proceeding across. the vehicle has been serviced three times by an authorized dealer without resolution of the problem. the first time the service department reported that they only read a general fault code so they undid and resecured the electrical connectors to the abs wheel sensors and reset the fault codes. this did not fix the problem. the second time, the dealer replaced a sensor. this did not fix the problem. the third time the dealer replaced the control module but the problem is still just as bad. this is an extremely dangerous condition that has made the vehicle unsafe to use. i am afraid to let my wife or son drive it anymore. when pulling out of our subdivision or making a left hand turn in an intersection, i cannot be certain if the vehicle is going stop unexpectedly. *tr
