Defect SummaryThese vehicles were equipped with incorrect spare wheels. the use of an incorrect spare wheel in a mounted position can, under certain load conditions, eventually cause the wheel to crack and possibly separate from the vehicle.
Consequence SummaryShould the wheel crack and separate from the vehicle, loss of vehicle control can occur, resulting in a vehicle crash without warning.

 While driving at 70 mph the driver's side tire came off due to lugs:nuts breaking off. the consumer was able to slow down and pull over. this has happened two other times. the first time, passenger's rear tire came off while driving at 45mph. the second time, the driver's rear side tire came off when the lugs: nuts and other parts broke off. *ak
