| Dt*: the contact stated while driving less than 10 mph on an icy road, a vehicle stopped short in front of the contact's vehicle. in an attempt to brake, the abs on the vehicle did not engage. the contact's vehicle collided with the vehicle in front of it. there was a drill-like sound when the brakes are depressed. the vehicle does not normally engage on wet or icy surfaces. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic. there is a nhtsa recall, 99i006000, regarding the service brakes. the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the vin. | |||

| Vehicle pulls to the left when applying brakes. i had the front brakes replaced and rotors turned last month at 32,095 actual miles. the problem of pulling to the left continues when brakes are applied. when brakes are released, it pulls to the right--it doesn't release. in case of an emergency stop, it pulls to the left, then right, then left, then right. i was told i need to replace the brake pressure modulator valve to correct this problem. this will cost approximately $1100.00. i feel this should not happen at this low mileage.*ak | |||
