| Power steering stops working at all speeds and conditions. dash lights up saying power steering and from that point on until vehicle is restarted there is no power steering. it has happen many times over the last week dealer states that the power steering motor is bad and needs to be replaced at a cost of $265. there are 1000s of complaints of this happening why is nothing being done. canadaian hhr has a recall on this but not us hhr. its not the money its the safety of the motoring public that is question here.if not for the fact i have driven a car not equipt with power steering before it could have been really bad when it turned off in a turn. | |||

| Vehicle shut down due to power steering. light came on, manual says to turn off engine and restart and it will clear light. however, when reaching speed of 40mph the power steering was again hard to turn. again light came on. vehicle is very hard to turn and get over to side of road especially if you are in the left hand lane and the power steering quits working. upon the second time this happened, almost causing a wreck, it was extremely difficult to steer vehicle and get it off the roadway. took vehicle to dealership and was told the vehicle needs power steering repair. costing $365.00. what a costly repair on a new vehicle. i have had older vehicles that never had the power steering needing repair. also ask that transmission be checked again. vehicle has already had rebuilt transmission installed by gm/ chevrolet. transmission is still slipping when trying to get on freeway. when slowing down from high speed, the transmission will sound like it is slipping into another gear. *tr | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet hhr. while driving approximately 45 mph the gauges on the instrument cluster began to go back and forth. he stated when the instrument cluster went back and forth the transmission jumped when going into another gear. the failure was intermittent and the failure has been on going since september 27, 2010. the vehicle was taken to the dealer four times for the failure. the dealer has replace the body control modular. on the second visit to the dealer they applied die electric grease to the high speed land modular connectors. the third visit the dealer replaced the power steering control modular. the four visit to the dealer per the manufacturer the dealer was advised to not put any more money into the vehicle. he called the manufacturer and was advised that the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. the contact has filed a complaint with the manufacturer. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was 277 and the current mileage was 12,345. vwb | |||

| Three weeks ago my 2007 chevy hhr began not shifting out of park. it takes at least 10 minutes each time i get in my car to shift into drive or reverse. i have tried everything. now the only way i get it out of park is to turn to key forward and press on the brake and push in the button on the shifter. after about 5 minutes it will finally go into gear. i need to understand what the issue is and if so many people are dealing with the same issue why isn't there any help out there from the manufacturer or a recall to fix this? | |||
