Side air bag/heated seat, closed the drivers side door and the air bag deployed on its own causing a really big bruise on my daughters side.contacted the g.m. dealership about it and was told that they would look into it and to not contact anyone else. never heard anything back from them.then about a month later the passenger side seat started burning and it ruined the center console ,seat, and carpet. no sense in contacting g.m. again because they are not going to do anything about it.someone will have to die before anything gets done to solve these problems that everyone is having and that g.m. will not solve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *tr

Took car to dealer for routine annual state inspection and advised dealership the air bag light would come on and off during driving and asked them to check this while car was in their shop. we were advised by the dealership the drivers side air impact bag of inoperable and needed to be replaced. we had purchased an extended warranty for this car when it was purchased in september 2002, however, this repair was not covered under the warranty. the total charge we had to pay out-of-pocket for this repair was $352.60. after reviewing other complaints on the nhsta website, this appears to be a defect and i feel we should receiving reimbursement for the amount we have paid to have this fixed. *jb

Air bag readiness light stays on while driving. it was brought for service and was told that it?s a loose wire. okay for a month. now comes on intermittently. reported to gm, incident#1-114736540. was told no other person has had this problem, to take for service again, it could be a different problem. spoke with the service manager and was told as long as the car isn't stalling, probably it?s just a loose wire again. emailed gm again and told that they apologize for any concerns, but are unable locate a previous request, or create a new one with the information i provided. i do not understand this response. the owners manual states this indicator light checks ,the air bag system: the electrical, the air bag module, the air bag sensors, the wiring and crash sensing and diagnostic module. that the bag could go off without a crash, or might not go off in a crash. to me this is a safety hazard. i know 2 other people with the same year vehicle that have the same problem. *la

Airbag light came on and flashed and stayed on. vehicle taken to dealership, and replaced. i was told that the airbag module had an internally open circuit and causing dtc. they replaced the airbag at the cost of $445. there was no tampering on my part, obviously there is a defect so why do i the consumer have to pay for it? this is a huge safety concern, i am a paramedic/ lt and know how well airbags work. just thought you should check into this matter and hopefully no one will be injured because of others who have not reported this to you. *jb
