 Tl*the contact owns a 2002 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that the electronic pass lock system prevents the vehicle from starting. the failure has been ongoing for a year. the dealer stated that the vehicle must be present to receive a computer generated code in order to instantly rectify the failure. the contact stated that the security light illuminated in the vehicle, which also prevented it from starting. various components have been replaced, but the failure still persists. the vehicle has been to the dealer approximately 4-6 times, including twice this week. the failure mileage was 38,000 and current mileage was 46,500.

 Tl* the contact owns a 2002 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that the horn began sounding independently. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection but they could not diagnose the cause of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 239,281. kmj

 The horn on 2002 model was harder to push than on the older models due to design flaw. the consumer stated that the horn design safety problem could cause a serious accident and should be recalled. *yh

 Pressing horn button takes a lot of effort. dealer said it was designed that way, and there was nothing that could be done. *ak

 Horn is very hard to locate and activate when needed. dealer has been notified. *ak the sevrice manager says that air bags makes it difficult to blow the horn during an emergency condition. all impalas and malibus have the same problem. *yh
