Fuel leaks from the hose that conects to the fuel injector presure regulator on my 2003 chevrolete impala from time to time with no regular schedule.i am afraid that at some time a fire could reault from this leakage.sometimes this happens at start up and then at other timess for reason at all.it is a small amount of leakage.when i detect the smell,i stop and push down on the hose where it connects to the pressure regulator and it seems to stop the smell and the leak.

Problem started with the trans - wasn't shifting right, hard shift. took it to rotolo chevy in fontana, ca. dx: catalytic converter, nearly $800 to get new one only to have the car completely die on the side of the road when the tranny disintegrated. replaced under warranty. ever since i have had shifting difficulties - took it back a week later to be told it has a smart adapt in trans and needed approx 1000 miles to sync itself, now the car sputters, has a misfire code in cylinder 2, trans code. hard starts, randomly stalls when making right turns, interior and exterior lights surge when at an idle, car constantly feels like it wants to stall - it can actually make you nauseas when sitting at a stop light because of the surging of the car. this morning the car just stalled when i was at a stop sign. all plugs, plug wires and coil pack for cylinder 2 have been replaced with no correction to how the car runs. sounds and feels worse when you put the car into reverse, but smooths out some when in drive. filed complaint with bar regarding cat replacement, recommended refund to dealer for unnecessary item - dealer refuses to give money back. told me car would never run right after the tranny was replaced because i refused to have them change the motor mounts. the car has not run right since, but a second opinion found that the mounts were ok - recommended that one of the back mounts be replaced as it was more worn than the others.

The car was bought new from dealership, with occasional grinding noises noted in reverse and headlights surging at night while driving. dealership unable to replicate with the exception of grinding. i was told a loose wire was causing noise in reverse. on 09/26/05, after noticing hard stalls while attempting to start, the fuel pump went out $281.60 for new one. 12/09/05, to dealership for starting concerns and maintenance. 04/13/06-car would not start to leave work. ward's chevrolet came to my work site. left me a rental and kept my car until 04/20/06. i paid $674.56 for a 2nd fuel pump and fuel module. 06/21/06- to local garage with same complaints. $100 paid for short in electrical that caused no start and towing. 08/04/06-cooper buick in monroe,la- $281.00 for another fuel pump and recall on 2003 impala headgaskets that i was unaware of. 11/22/06-no start, turn over-went outside 3 hours later-starts with hard start. 12/06/06-brakes went from quiet to grinding-slow hard starts continue. ward's kept the car for a month-never told me what was wrong with car except brakes. did not charge. at this time i had requested a gm investi.-no results-statesthe dealership was unable to replicate concern. the car continues to have slow, hard starts with very noticeable gas smells. the smell of gas has been occurring since 04/20/06 repairs. now service, abs, security lights come on and off intermittently with the smell of gas and slow, hard starts. i have been calling ward's since the first week of march 2007 requesting factory rep. to meet and drive car after their having a month with no improvements in cars functioning. i called this a.m. to be informed that new service dept. manager was not aware of problem. this is the 4th time since march i have requested the factory rep. with no response from ward's. *tr

Since june 2006, i have noticed that the fuel gauge of my chevrolet impala, 2003 (3.4l; 72,000 miles) have been displaying incorrectly the amount of fuel in the gas tank. the fuel gauge has been showing full despite the fact that i have less than half tank of gas. i have been using the trip odometer to guide me in my fuel consumption especially during the first week of july when i made long trip. are there other reports regarding the erratic fuel gauge operation in this year model of chevrolet impala 2003? *nm

Dt: the consumer states after driving the vehicle, she got out and smelled gasoline. she thought it was a different vehicle in the parking lot. she drove the vehicle home and parked it in the garage. then the smell was noticed in the garage. the vehicle was then taken to the dealership , and they could not find cause of the problem, but they thought it was the charcoal fuel purge canister in the fuel tank. the dealership stated that because it could not be duplicated they could not fix it. the consumer then called the manufacturer, and they stated they had no knowledge of this problem. the dealership told the consumer not to park the vehicle in the garage because of the hot water heater. also, stated that if it occurred again, she should drive the vehicle straight to the dealer so they could diagnose the problem. the consumer was going to have the problem corrected at a local mechanic, at her own expense. this occurred on july 18, 2005 on a 2003 chevrolet impala. the vehicle was taken to fairway chevrolet for service at 3100 east sahara avenue, las vegas nv 89104.*ak *jb

I own a 2003 chevy impala. about once a week for the last month, the vehicle fails to start. the security light flashes on the information panel indicating that the passlock system has locked out the fuel system. spoke to a dealership and was told that the repair would be time consuming and costly. i have only owned the vehicle for about 18 months. *tr
