| First... my car all of the sudden started leaking like an oil tanker last january 2012, and the abs/traction control lights came on. took the car to the chevy dealership, and had major repair work done on transmission, and engine for leaks. spent $2100 and was quote $2600 to replace the abs/traction control modulator for my abs/traction control to work again. the code they pulled was c1218. needless to say it has not been repaired yet. a month after spending this money, i had to replace the water pump, and almost a year later i had to replace a plastic elbow from the water pump to my radiator which was another $300. then this past december 2012, my transmission all of the suddent jerked hard from 1st to 2nd and so on during local driving. max speed limit is 40mph locally. took it to chevy and was told i need a new transmission, so i took it for a second opinion and was told code p1811 was coded for a long shift, but that my transmission was a 1/2 quart low so they filled it with trans additive. they suggested i try a transmission shop for them to check because maybe my trans selonoid was bad, which would still cost quite a bit for repair, but not nearly as much as a new transmission. my car has 122,000 long highway miles, not local; stop & go. i do not feel my abs/traction control, nor my trans should be bad. i maintain my car, and based on my internet searches many people have had the exact same problems with these cars. i emailed chevy and was basically told this is my problem and no concession was offered on their part to assist me with these repairs. i have been laid off from my job, and returned to school so needless to say cannot afford a new car, but this car is costing more than it is worth. chevy needs to quit ignoring these problems, and take care of loyal customers before they lose them. | |||

| I have a chev. impala ls 2005 it runs good but the transmission jerks and is shifting long. the chevrolet people know about this and i think that they should be able to replace it at free of charge because when they made them they knew and did not tell anybody until people start coming in complaining about them. | |||

| I drove my car to work and it cranked fine. i got in it to go home and it wouldn't start. i replaced the battery and it still is happening. some time it cranks and sometimes it doesn't. i just wish someone would help me figure this out. | |||

| Horn was working fine and it was nice and loud always sounded like a tractor trailer horn. then the horn started getting weaker and sounding like a regular horn then the horn just quit working. this happen within two weeks time. replaced fuses but that didn't work. | |||

| I have had this car towed 4 times since march 2012. when the car decides to start and is driven for short destinations, it will not start. problem is intermttent. gives no warning of impending doom! cranks but will not start. on april 13, 2012 vehicle started after having set in driveway for a week or more. i drove it to nearest dealer, merollis chevrolet. after 7 days, dealer requested i pick-up vehicle because it started each day and they could not diagnose. fearful of a repeat performance, i drove car home and parked it. several days later, car failed to start. following day 5/7/12, car would not start. towed car to james martin chevrolet. they cannot diagnose because it has started daily for dealer. our world is too dangerous for anyone to drive a car that will leave them stranded for unknown reason. this is a life and death issue. help! | |||

| I'm not sure what this would be classified under but here's the description. the gauges go haywire, i.e. the speedometer just keeps going up even if you slow down - until it goes almost all the way around again. it normally stops at the bottom like at the 200 degree position if on a 360 degree view. this has been happening on my car since around the 30k mileage. starting just last week [march 2012], now the temperature gauge is starting to do the same thing. it started running hot, [but not really] so i immediately shut down my car, called my mechanic, etc. the temp gauge also went all the way around and sometimes stays there, sometimes it comes back around to normal. upon restarting the car, the temp gauge would start coming back down in segments - turning the ignition switch on/off would make the gauges come back down to normal in notches or spaced increments. now i'm running my car without knowing the proper speed and also not sure if my car is really overheating or not. | |||

| The heat on the driver side of my car will not come on but the passenger side blows like a champ. i took it to the chevy dealership and they said the door that flows cold and hot air is stuck on cool air and since its a dual air vehicle one side is blowing hot the other cold. i am very surprised this is not a recall since there are over 1,000 complaints on this one part please do something about this; i've been a long time chevy owner and i understand that things happen after driving but this is crealy not a driver induced problem. thank you from a vauled customer | |||

| The speedometer has gone haywire. you cannot tell how fast you are going. the rpm gauge is going haywire as well. it jumps all over the place. took the car to the dealership but wouldnt you know it the warranty expired with no written notice from warranty company. the clusters are the root of all the problems and chevrolet needs to recall to repair the issues described. another alarming problem with the 2005 chevy impala i own is what is called the passlock protection. it also does not work at times and i had to find out ways to bypass the passlock on youtube. this could turn into a dangerous situation if you need to start you car in an emergency and you cant because the passlock will not let you turn on the car. sometimes you have to wait ten minutes with the key in a certain position. that is totally not acceptable. | |||

| My speedometer gauge doesn't work it will get stuck on 20 mph constantly it never reads the correct speed but my other gauges work fine. my transmission shifts/slips harder than it should from 1st into 2ed and 2ed into 3rd. my headlights flicker when i push on my window controls to roll my windows up or down. the heat only blows on the passenger side of my car including on the defrost for the front windows and the rear window. | |||

| I have always driven chevy, love them. however, in each i have had problems with my doors. i own a 2005 impala,, and all of my doors are not working, two do not work at all 1 has to be held closed with a rope and the last is starting to show signs of breaking. i have taken to a chevy dealership and they can not figure out the problem period. um, this cost me money to do so. please direct me to any recalls or how on earth to fix this problem, cheaply or free since it has got to be a manufracturing problem.. thank you for your time. rev. tamijane bovard. | |||

| The only event leading to the failure was a loud sound coming from the rear left side of the vehicle. the failure involved a pull to the left and excessive heat being generated from the back left tire. the component that failed ended up being the wheel bearing. i had a mechanic replace it and also kept the old part. the old bearing was scorched (the mechanic showed me) and warped. the bearing could have locked up had it not been replaced, resulting in an accident. | |||
